Submitted by Gil, aka Midnight: My dad worked hard every year to put on a Christmas for us four kids and one year he put on the biggest I can remember, candy, nuts, fruits, all layed out. Sitting in front of the tree was the best looking red with silver fenders 26" Schwinn bicycle you ever saw. There was no snow on the ground so I jumped on that bike and rode up and down the street for about an hour. Then it started to snow and I had to put the bike away 'til spring. |

submitted by Vicki: When the kids were little, we had very little money. One year Veronica, aka Ron, asked for a balleriina doll. We couldn't afford it so we bought a look alike. On Christmas Eve we were out and I saw the real thing on sale. I bought it and returned the look alike. On Christmas morning when she opened her doll, she cried like a baby. She was so sure that we wouldn't be able to get it for her. From then on, if necessary, we would borrow the money to get the kids what ever they asked for. |

Submitted by Doug, aka DEF: Well we never knew when Santa was gonna come to the house, Dad made sure of that, never was sure if he knew where we lived even. But at some point and time before the night was late, we all, with dad, piled into the car (mom never went, hmmmmm) and we went to look for Santa. I guess the thing that was most unusual was that we always missed him. Yes, he would have already come and went by the time we got back home. The ol' guy was slick! |
