JUNE 2001
UNSEEN ATTRACTIONS (MUSCUTT)
Before tonight I never even knew you existed but now the end of the evening is here
And I think theres something between us saying so much but words cant communicate
The feelings that pass between us this is the start of something good
And I know it must sound stupid when I say I want to see you again
Because to this moment Ive never seen your face
But this is how good things begin we only talk when theres a connection
And while the chances are remote I think theres something between us
And I want this to be the start of something good
And I know it must sound stupid when I say I want to see you again
Because to this moment Ive never even seen your face
But this is how the good things begin when its unseen tonight
Everything about you seems what I want to see in me and I know Ive seen the good things tonight

I wrote this song for a girl who I met which she said was very sweet of me. Using one of my creative outlets to woo someone, you see? Comes in pretty handy! Actually I sent a different version of this song to her, I cant remember the bits I altered. I met her over the internet which was pretty lucky really, considering she doesnt have a computer.

DAMN, GIRL KID (PART ONE) (MUSCUTT)
Curses at birth you didnt want her your failed abortion unwanted in the hospital leave her to drown
Damn your girl child forget about her leave her to drown deformed at birth was it your fault? Or do you care?
Youve forgotten your girl child in a post natal depression haze
Curse yourself at birth what are you going to do with her
Abandoned in the hospital abandoned and waiting to drown
Damn your girl child forget about her love and leave her to drown deformed at birth is not your problem

This is about a teenage girl giving birth to an unwanted baby, and finding out its deformed. The mother then abandons the baby in the river and leaves it there. Theres a second part to this, which switches to the babys point of view on being left for dead. Someone told me this was quite a sick song once, but I cant see why. As I mentioned with part two, this is a prequel song about the baby.

CHAIN-STORES AND RAZOR BLADES (MUSCUTT)
Fits so perfectly never active anymore youre so in-hospitable sitting in your chair
Light from underneath the door full boxes of bones in the hall
Second coat design journal laid in red drawn curtains twitch sit in your cave drawing patterns in the sand
Twin disposal worth more than the two of you the same foam padding ambidextrous ambiguity design flaw
It never rings it never rings oh it never rains when it pours
Alarm being raised in the corridor fall on your face laughing
Silent noise in sickness and in health longer living than it should be
Stronger than it ever could be create misleading perspective

More weird nonsense that was written as I was coming out of my weird phase. As a result its probably weirder than most of the weird songs on account of it being one of the last weird songs in the weird phase. Weird.

CONCEPT PORNOGRAPHY (MUSCUTT)

Consumer perceptions of what is acceptable to us your constant concept of pornography remains
In a mirrored sense of yourself tell me how Im supposed to act
When you say these things to me its a consequence of your concept pornography

Theres (sorry, there was, hes dead now) a brilliant stand up comedian from America called Bill Hicks who did a sketch on pornography once.  He said people should be able to make their own minds up on porn and whether they watch it/buy it and that sexual images and intercourse had been around long before porn films and magazines. I have to agree with him, people should be allowed to think whether something is offensive or not and be able to buy it freely if they want to. Its a matter of choice at the end of the day if you dont like it, dont watch it/read it!

SUFFOCATION DEADLINE (MUSCUTT)
Suffocate me before the sun falls again suffocate me before my brain denies again
Deliberate me before my walls fall in again, again, again
Youve got a deadline to stick to or youll be in trouble make a good job of me boy

Another film reference in this one from Gangster Number One this time, the very last line which says make a good job of me boy. Its from this part of the film where this rookie gangster goes to a rival gangland bosses house and butchers him in a not very nice way. The song is aboutwell, killing someone before the day is over. Dont ask why.

MISINFORMED (BUT I LIKE IT THAT WAY) (MUSCUTT)
Nobody tells me anything anymore so misinformed I wander from place to place
Seeing nothing but faces the same blank faces everywhere everyday
Its all the same when you get the wrong information forced to re-arrange actions not undone by you
Why cant it be the same as it was when we were boys? You used to tell me everything and anything
As if I could have helped you anyway but now youre silent and empty like a shell
As if I care now anyway Ill have to find out for myself Ill have to find out for myself
But I like it that way your stereotypical shit doesnt cut it anymore when you invade my privacy
Your interminable flip between prophecy and Prozac doesnt win you any votes
And youre personally responsible for ruining my dreams of being in control and of being informed
Our dreams always get destroyed in the end I guess I wished too hard wished too hard
And now Im misinformed but I prefer it that way blissfully ignorant you think youll get away

There are some people who are just total control freaks and need to know everything that is going on in peoples lives like when you go out with someone who gets insanely jealous if youve been out without them or with other friends and demands to know where youve been. I dont really like people like that.

INWARD FREAK (MUSCUTT)
Affiliation with your abortion decision reigns over me stay indoors its not healthy to breathe in the germs outside
Well protect you from all danger well protect you till we die because youre valuable yes youre a freak
Because youre different to us yes youre a freak availability is the key to taking your insides with me
On the interior its safe and clean well sterilise you from them
Well sterilise your little brain sterilise your soul forever to keep you with us to keep you from danger
Because youre valuable to them yes youre a freak because youre different to them yes youre a freak

Some science fiction stuff happening here. This is about this freak baby thing that some shady scientific people want to experiment on, and these people trying to keep the baby away from the bad people. Like in ET, the scientists want to experiment on the alien, but the little boy doesnt want them to.
