All bird owners go through similar experiences, so being able to discuss your problem with someone who has experienced it is invaluable. 2. Club members can tell you the best place to buy toys, cages, teach you how to hand feed babies, or refer you to a good avian vet. 3. Club members are part of a community that is willing to help you care for your birds in times of need. 4. Clubs can keep you advised of current legislation which may affect which species you may keep or how many. 5. Club functions such as fairs, parties, picnics, membership drives, & education appearances may be of interest to you. 6. Meetings may include experienced guest speakers with helpful knowledge to impart or fun experiences, such as a trained parrot show. 7. Club newsletters contain information that is entertaining and/or educational. 8. If you wish, you can help the plight of unwanted pet birds by educating the public and/or helping with rescue & adoption. 9. You have access to many bird-friendly people and locations that enable you to properly socialize your bird. 10.
