University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Otterbein College & Capital
University On April 22, 1990 Pi
Gamma City Wide Chapter of Columbus, Ohio was charted. At the time of the
chartering, the Chapter was composed of five institutions of higher learning
located in the Central Ohio area. The institutions are Denison University,
DeVry Institute of Technology, Ohio Dominican University, Ohio Wesleyan
University, and Otterbein College. In the spring of 1995, Capital University
was added to the charter to become the sixth institution to join the City
Wide Chapter. In November of 2001, DeVry was omitted. Pi Gamma Chapter is
sponsored by Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter of Columbus, Ohio. The charter members
represent four of the five chartering institutions. From Denison University were
Lori Dodson, Kimberly Belcher, Katrina Mishu, Erika Moore, Sylvania Page,
Monica Patterson, Theresa Portis, Monica Scott, Chavonna Sheffield, Ingrid
Travis, and Trina Ward. From Ohio Wesleyan University were April Allen,
Sophia Bogues, Michelle Doles, Crystal Norris, Catondra Noye, Lisa Sheppard,
Karen Thompson, and Kelli Weaver. Michelle Knight attended DeVry Institute of
Technology and Cozette Robinson attended Ohio Dominican College. Since
it’s chartering, Pi Gamma Chapter has continued to fervently render “service
to all mankind” by continuing to uphold the ideals of Alpha Kappa Alpha. The
Chapter was a co-host for the Great Lakes Regional Conference in 2001. Pi
Gamma Chapter has produced an International Undergraduate Member-At Large,
Jacquie J. Jones, National Undergraduate Activities Committee Appointee,
Danielle D. Sampson, and four
International Leadership Fellows, Lisa Sheppard, Andrea Brown, Brandy Alston
and Danielle D. Sampson. |
