| Lisa Vollratz - This work has the word "Rise" in the middle. The artist's quote concerning the work - "...no matter how many books are slashed and destroyed - the printed word will rise and endure." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mary Bennett - No title The artwork has the paper fanned out, creating a circle, but attached to the frame. The artist's quote concerning the work was..."When times are hard, ideas are always the first things attacked." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| e.g. crichton - "Viewpoint" The book the artist received was a young adult book used for school reports called, "Homosexuality- Opposing Viewpoints". The artist took old encyclopedias and placed a viewfinder in them. When you look through, you can see the nearly transparent paper pulp of the destroyed book, yet through that, you can see a view that is upside down. |

| Charley Stinson - "One Red Crane" The artist cut out a box shape in the middle of the book and made a paper red crane. It was suspended in the middle of the box shape. It is difficult to see, but you can make out shades of red in the middle of the fanned book. Then the artist made paper cranes out of the pieces of cut paper from the book. This is what is laying on the bottom of the case. This was my favorite and it was beautiful. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Julie Elefante - "Recollect/Reconnect" The artist wanted to process the unaltered text of the book into something new. The pieces of text are all over the artwork. In the palm of the hand, in the face and in the middle of the sun above. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Celeste Cooper - "You Cannot Destroy Me" This picture is a bit blurry but it has human shapes thoughout with pieces of the book and lines from the text. |
