My grandparents, Arnold Pritchard and Marion van Binsbergen Pritchard, at their wedding in a Bavarian Displaced Persons camp in 1947, where they were both staff members.  My grandfather had been a soldier in the European Theatre, and my grandmother had been involved in underground rescue efforts, and joined the United Nations Relief and Recovery Association after the war.  They met on a train platform in Germany in 1945.

My parents' wedding in 1973, Washington Cathedral.  They were both graduate students at Yale at the time - my dad in History, my mother in English.  Now, my mum runs The Children's Mission of St. Paul and St. James and The Sunday Paper, and writes, while my dad works for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and does some storytelling.

My older sister Grace on Boppa's tractor in Vermont, circa 1980.  Grace is now married (photos below), and in the process of becoming an Episcopal priest, though it won't be for several more years.

Here's me on my baptism day.  My mother likes this picture because it makes my hair look red.

Jillian's reaction to this photo was, "Oh my God, it's mini-Margaret!"

This is me and Grace performing "Agony" at Mardi Gras 1995.

L to R: My mom, me, my dad, my sister Grace, my little sister Marion.  The dog is our namesake Jack Russell, Pritchard, who belonged to a friend of ours.  This was taken in 1999.  It's a horrible photo of everyone, except the dog, who looks great.

Grace and Josh's Wedding

June 22, 2002

I was the Maid of Honor.  I caught the bouquet, I decorated the car, I flirted with groomsmen.  Good times were had by all.

Most of the bridal party.  L to R: Betsy Spear, Katie Morrissey, Marion Pritchard (flower girl), Margaret Pritchard (Maid of Honour), Grace Pritchard Burson, Josh Burson, Dan Burson (Best Man), Ben Birney.  Missing: Ariel Serkin, Kate Abbott, Derik Velasquez, Matt Luedke, Richard Giarusso.

Me, waiting for Napoleon's return.

"Get me to the church on time!"  Lyah, who took this, notes that it looks very much as though Grace is shoving her bouquet up Kate's nose.  We also have a photo where it looks like Kate is clubbing my grandmother in the face with her bouquet.  It was a very violent wedding.

This is one of my favourite photos from that wedding.  Oh, and I should mention that my mum hand-made that dress.  Which Marion proceeded to outgrow in about two weeks.

Slightly more recent photographs.

August whale-watching is quickly becoming a family tradition.  The first time, we saw a lot of humpback whales, about 12, as well as a pod of Atlantic White-Sided Dolphins.  The whales got very close - one of them even came and bumped his head on the boat, which was kind of alarming, considering that they're big suckers.  The next year, we saw a bunch of pilot whales, and we got to observe family groups, which was really cool.  We also saw a few finback whales, but only from a distance.  The bird-watching on these trips is also good.

Me and Marion waiting to board the boat (we patronise Captain John's Boats - knowledgeable and ecologically responsible!) at Plymouth.  The trips take you out to the Stellwagen Banks Marine Sanctuary.

Me (cap and gown), Marion (blue dress), and Grace (yellow dress) on a cannon from the U.S.S. Constitution, on my Graduation day.
