- was the third daughter of Thomas Ward and Ellen Rebecca Appleby Coughlan, born in South Nelson, Northumberland Co., New Brunswick, Canada. Evelyn married Arthur Murray Goodwin, Sr., on August 16, 1929, in Montreal, Canada. They moved to Buffalo, NY, before their first child, A. Murray Goodwin, Jr., was born. Evelyn loved doing housework and would rather have cleaned and ironed than cook and eat! I can still hear her humming and singing as she worked! She also loved to tell stories about her family. She and Arthur were members of the Episcopal church where each was very active. Evelyn is buried in the Memorial Garden at Trinity Episcopal Church, Columbus, OH.
