He was the love of my life, ~~Love, Loretta~~
For oh so many years.
We grew together,
Through happiness and tears.
Our life was a journey,
On land and on sea.
He was a fisherman at heart,
But gave it up for me.
Fishing was hard,
Gone for many a day.
With children to feed,
And very little pay.
So he toiled on land,
For the rest of his life.
Gave of himself,
To his children and wife.
He stood tall and was quiet,
He guided us along.
He taught me to be,
Independent and strong.
Now he's been gone,
For many a year.
But deep in my heart,
I still hold him dear.
