Vocabulary, Skills, Rules, Concepts, and Teaching Cues:
                   a) Rolling pencil- Lay on side with hands together above head, making a point.  Roll.
                   b) Rolling log- Hands by side and roll.
                   c) Side roll- Start on hands and knees, with one side toward the direction of the roll.  Drop the shoulder, tuck both the elbow and the knee under, and roll over completely, returning to the hands and knees position.
                   d) Forward roll- Stand facing forward, with feet apart.  Squat and place the hands on the mat, shoulder width apart, with elbows against the insides of the thighs.  Tuck the chin to the chest and make a rounded back.  A push-off with the hands and feet provides the force for the roll.  Carry the weight on the hands, with the elbows bearing the weight of the thighs.
                   e) Back roller- Begin in a crouched position with knees together and hands resting lightly on the floor.  Roll backward, securing a momentum by bringing the knees to the chest and clasping them with the arms.  Roll back and forth rhythmically.
                   f) Forward roll (Straddle position)- Start with legs spread in a straddle.  Bend forward at the hips, tuck the head, place the hands on the mat, and roll forward.  Try to land in same position.
                   g) Backward curl- Begin in a sitting position, with the knees drawn up to the chest and the chin tucked down.  The arms are placed to the sides as the shoulders make contact with the mat.  Roll backward until the weight is on the shoulders.  The feet and legs come over the head so that the toes touch the mat. Roll back to starting position.
