|
The process of LASIK eye surgery is very easy and only takes around 5 minutes. First, a computerized map of your eye is taken so that the exact prescription can be taken. After the patient has recieved anesthetic drops and the laser has been calibrated, the eyes are placed in a eyelid holder for the procedure. The doctor then uses a microkeratome to create a corneal flap. The microkeratome is a microsurgical knife that looks like a carpenter's plane. Next, a cool laser beam gently reshapes the eye and the flap is put back into place. The laser is on the eye for an average of only one minute. |
