As you should know by now, our home base was in Montego
Bay. Although this was a very nice and laid back area, we wanted to
get out to Negril for some cliff diving, check out 7 mile beach & rent
some wave runners. Our friend Morris who worked at the main bar hooked
us up with a cool driver named Jasper.
Jasper drove us to Negril which was about and hour
from Montego Bay. During the ride out we enjoyed the weather, views
and ehhhh, well some other things. Especially Ari, once we got into
Negril Ari was in rare form, and his eyes were unusually red, he must
have been sitting too close to the window or something.....

| Our first stop
was at the place where we rented the wave runners. It was 50$ per person,
but there was a group ahead of us so we stopped
at this cool little bar on the beach and had a few red stripes while
waiting. I have to say I know why 7 Mile beach is the #3 beach in the
world. It was so nice, and the women walking around just added to
its beauty.
After having a few beers, it was time to head out on
the wave runners. We all went out, it was a bit choppy but still a
fun time. When it was time to head back in Ari was no where to be
found. Dustin road over to me and explained that Ari thought wave
runners could go through Corel reef's and he was stuck on one. We
went to tell someone so they could get him, but ari got the attention of a
person snorkeling and they got him off the reef and he came in about
10mins after we got back. We laughed about this for a few
days....... |

| After
having another drink, we piled back into the van and headed up to go cliff
diving. We drove through the narrow streets of Negril for about 5
minutes and pulled into this bar that over looked the cliffs. Rob
was the first to jump, the cliff was around 30ft and the view was
great. Ari showed off with his famous pencil dive to face plant, and
took home a souvenir bloody lip. (we have it on video)
Cliff diving was fun, but I would have liked to find
some around 45ft, its always more fun if you have some fear in you.
Negril was about 5-7 degrees warmer then where we
were staying and it definitely made us pretty tired. So back into
the van and we started the hour trek back to the hotel. I think we
all spent around 110$ each on this day trip, it was well worth it and we
really didn't spend that much money the rest of the trip. Rob &
Ari hit the sluts (nick name for slot machines) coach lost every time, and
Ari won a few times, but usually put all the money back into the machine.
If anyone heads out to Jamaica I recommend checking
out Negril, it has a lot to offer. The ride from Montego Bay to
Negril was pretty cool, the views were just great. The picture at
the bottom of this page was taken on our way back. |
ABOVE:
The cliff that I am sitting on is where we were jumping off. This is
also the same place where the filmed pirates of the Caribbean. There
are caves directly below where I am sitting at the water level and that is
where you swim into and climb back up through a tunnel to the bar.
BELOW: Dustin in mid air, he was the last to go,
and there is me underneath with my head cut off.
