NASA Langley / VCU Regional's 2002 CHAMPION! Parkland High School's FIRST Team After lots of hard work and dedication we traveled to Virginia where we competed in the NASA Langley / VCU Regional, we did fairly well throughout the qualifying rounds but we shined during the finals. In the finals (where it is best of 3 matches) we were the most successful team, winning it with our alliance partners teams 422 & 316. More recently we placed 2nd in the playoffs at the Philidelphia Regional paring ourselves with teams 122 & 484, while winning the Leadership in Control and Incredible Play awards! We NEED MONEY in order to have the whole (or even a small part) team go to compete in the NATIONAL COMPITION in beautiful Orlando, Florida. Parkland's Engineering club is in its fourth year here at Parkland High School, and its second year competing in FIRST. We have once again entered the FIRST competition (for the second year). FIRST is a national competition which allows a medium for high-school students, like ourselves, to develop the skills needed in engineering and other technical careers. FIRST allows us to learn about complex systems, develop skills, and implement them in the construction and design of our robot. We need your help, please support us. |
