CHAPTER I- TOOLS AND TOOLBAR
Now in Adobe Photoshop, you will see a toolbar on your right. This "toolbar" will be the main focus of this chapter. First, there are four types of tools. Selection Tools, Alteration Tools, Assisting Tools and last but not least, Vector Tools. The Selection tools from the name itself, is used to select parts of an image and to move them. Tools included in the Selection tools may be the Move tool, Magic wand or the Lasso tools. The second one, are the Alteration tools. Now this genre of tools are what defines the very word "PHOTOSHOP". Tools that have the capability to change, crop and cut the image are considered to be vital in the program and Alteration tools are used more oftenly than other tools. Tools that may be found in this type are the crop tools, clone stamp tool, brush tool, Spot healing brush/healing brush and many others. Now let's move on to the third type of tool, the Assisting tool. I will not bother to explain any more than what i need to, the "Assisting Tools" are the least used tools in Adobe Photoshop. Finally, the Vector tools. Now this type is somewhat "interesting" to the users. With this type, you are able to create strokes of colors and shapes using pens and shapes. But there is one thing that makes the Vector tools unique from the others. Because only in Vector tools, will you find the "TEXT" tool. And this tool is really essential in Photoshop if one wants to add text to the image.

CHAPTER II-LAYERS
Okay, so we've already covered the first chapter, let's move on to the second one shall we? After you Open Adobe Photoshop, you will probably see the "LAYERS" in the bottom right corner of your screen. The layers are like the fragments of your image. Each image you add will add another layer, and through these layers, you are able to freely monitor and control the changes that is happening to your work and you will also get the job done much easier and faster. There are many options in the layer tab that will help you with your work, and we will discuss just about that.
LAYER PALLETE
The Palette
1.The big T in the box indicates that this layer contains text
2.The eye symbol indicates that the layer is visible. To make layer invisible just click on it.
3.The pen symbol along with the highlighting shows that this layer is active, which means that you can make changes only to this layer. Tip: If you are trying to edit an object in you image and you are getting error messages, check if you are in the right layer.
4.The arrow in a circle symbol leads you to detailed options of layer palette.
5.Fill setting has the same effect as Opacity for a Layer, except that is leaves Layer effects untouched.
6.The padlock symbol at the bottom right of the Background Layer entry indicates that the Background Layer cannot be moved or altered in any way, except by placing other layers on top of it.
(To move layers around click and drag the layer you wish to move to the new position)

More Palette Photoshop 7 layer palette
1.The dropdown menu sets the blending mode for the layer.
2.This icon locks the transparent pixels in the Layer to insure that any changes you make only affect those parts of the layer where there is a visible image.
3.This icon is just opposite of the transparent one. When clicked it ensures that any changes you make affect only transparent pixels in the layer.
4.The cross symbol, when clicked, lock the position of the current (active) layer in relation to the Background layer.5.
5.The padlock symbol locks the Layer completely, which means that you can not make any changes to that layer unless you unlock it first.
6.The chain symbol indicates that the layer mask (on the right) is linked to the Layer (on the left). Double on either to bring up the options specific to each one.
(To rename layers double click on the default names and type in new name. Try using descriptive and memorable names)

CHAPTER III-MENU BAR:
The Menu Bar is the whole bar on top of the screen that you will see in photshop. This contains the various options and is a national gateway for everything in the program. It "LITERALLY" contains everything. It contains the tools, the options, the effects and all other options.

CHAPTER IV-EXTENSION NAMES:
Sad to say but unfortunately, this will be the last chapter of the tutorial. When you hear the word "EXTENSION NAME" what do you envision? In the computer world, extension name reffers to the form of file you chose to save your work. It's not more of a tutorial for this part really, I just wanted to let you know which type of file to save. Take note that the type of extension name you chose, will affect the file you just currently saved. For example. the extension name ".psd" is a good extension name if one wishes to view the image in a computer screen. However, the name ".jpeg" is better used when providing a hardcopy of an image.

EXAMPLES OF EXTENSION NAMES
1.".txt"
2.".html"
3.".png"
4.".jpeg"
5.".jpg"
6.".psd"
7.".ppt"
8.".Doc"
9.".gif"
10.".pdf"
