BIOGRAPHY

Brian Marquis was born on May 1, 1981, in northwestern Connecticut. His father, singer/songwriter Kevin Marquis, introduced Brian to music at an early age. With the support of his parents, Brian became very musically involved: studying voice, musical theater, and performing in bands. Formal vocal training for Marquis allowed further study of voice and music at Berklee College of Music. Since leaving college, Brian has toured from Montreal to Daytona Beach, wrestled with music business while interning at Universal Music in New York City during 9/11, released his first solo CD, and tested out the waters of Los Angeles.

With just over a decade of experience tucked under his belt, Brian Marquis knows a thing or two about putting on a show. Marquis has performed in hardcore, metal, and rock bands as a lead vocalist, guitarist, and even drummer since the age of 13 while sharing the stage with such notable acts as: Cave In, Boy Sets Fire, Lamb of God, Eighteen Visions, Bury Your Dead, Mastodon, Every Time I Die, The Receiving End of Sirens, Poison the Well, As Tall As Lions, and Damone among others.

In the fall of 2002, Marquis released his debut solo CD entitled 'Burn by Burn', a 6-song offering as a singer/songwriter showing the broad spectrum of styles and influences he has acquired through the early part of his career. For this record Brian not only took on vocal duties but also guitar, bass, drums, writing, and co-recording/producing. 'Burn by Burn' contains songs that reveal the events of this young songwriter's life leading up to its release. Relationships, the working world and youthful frustration inspired the material for the songs that would make up Marquis very first solo flight.
