All
begins with the production list. We will use the set texts on the National
Curriculum as a starting point, and in consultaion with teachers and
eduction authorities we will choose the most commonly studied as our
principle productions, suppliment those with plays which may serve as
compare and contrast pieces, and where possible, put on the less commonly
studied works for completeness. |
Productions
will only be run for limited periods each year, but all available efforts
will be extended to make access available to every school and college
party possible. Our intention is quite simple. As long as we can secure
adequate sponsorship or funding to cover the production and running
costs of educational plays, all educational parties will gain free acess
to matinees or nominally charged evening performance entrance (subject
to advance booking). Then, the obstacle of not being able to afford
the theatre will have been overcome, and doors to a whole new universe
will have been opened. |
After
each matinee, we will hold question and answer sessions with the cast
and crew, so that attending students may remain and explore the production
process, and ask their own questions that may not have been covered
in supplimentary notes or information. The whole process should serve
to make studying the plays exciting and interesting, as well as far
simpler, easier, and clearer. |
