In-House Company Live ArtsYear Planner |
|||
|
Our first year's plan actually takes into account twenty two months to December 2004. There are two main reasons for this. Firstly we will need a little time before we launch into the full programme to make the company and residency familiar to local people and to set up production facilities on site and to get the company wheels in motion. Secondly we will need a full twelve month programme to ascertain whether the company is working in the area, and to learn what adjustments will need to be made for the following season. A pattern will then emerge of us working Autumn to Summer with the programme for the following year being finalised just before Christmas mid-season preceding it. In this way we will always be working and planning five-seven months ahead with rough sketch plans eventually being in place up to 18 months ahead. The first twelve weeks (March-May) will be largely taken up with establishing the company in the residency site, familiarizing ourselves with locale, working partners, and schools schedule, approaching sponsors and sourcing funding, and most importantly liaising with local schools and education department representatives to finalise content and timing of our educational programme. We will put the finishing touches to the Jubilee Festival plan and begin rehearsals for the first productions and auditions for the rest of the years' programme. The main programme is set out roughly on the chart below. Here you can see when we envisage each major production taking place. The gaps in the major schedule we see as being filled by variety shows smaller productions and one offs. They also allow us room for maneuver should more be required of us educationally. Of course we will be looking for many in-coming productions shows and events, and with two available auditoria we will easily be able to house them while producing our own material. As you can see, this is an adventurous and prolific proposal, but easily within the scope of this company, and because of the way it is set out we can adjust our starting window for almost any time, and by adding and eliminating extra shows and programme additions, adjust our schedule to suit our circumstances. |
