I am a Hong Kong native translator and interpreter currently residing in the US with a diverse range of interests and expertise. Unlike many Hong Kong people whose mother tongue is Cantonese, I was raised in a trilingual household in which Mandarin, Cantonese, and a little bit of Myanmese were spoken. Although I am a permanent resident of Hong Kong, my dad commutes a lot to China for doing business while my mum is a Burmese Chinese. I picked up English mostly in primary and secondary schools in which English is the most common medium of instruction. I graduated with first class honor in Translation from Lingnan University in 2005. After obtaining my Master of Arts degree in Anthropology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006, I pursued a Master of Philosophy degree in Asian and International Studies at The City University of Hong Kong between 2006-2008. I am now completing a Ph.D. degree in global history, with a specialization in areas of science and technology at Arizona State University in the United States, forthcoming in 2014.
I have worked as a freelance translator for many contractors and translation service providers all over the world since 2005, specializing in high quality translation service in the fields of information technology, medicine and health, finance, accountancy, advertising, and social sciences.

v Feb, 2006, I was hired by one of the largest companies in materials handling in the US, Hoover Material Materials Handling Group. v Jan-Feb, 2006, I was one of the interpreters for the seminar "South Asians and ethnic integration in Hong Kong" co-organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Caritas Center dedicated to addressing racial discrimination faced by South Asian immigrants in Hong Kong. The seminar lasted for 3.5 hours and I was responsible for rending the dialogues and speeches between Cantonese and English.

I am an amateur flute player. I have picked up the flute since I was 11 and I have started teaching flute at a part-time mode since 2002. I am a frequent traveler; the most beautiful place I have been to is the San Francisco Bay Area and the Yosemite National Park in Northern California. I like hot weather. I enjoy daydreaming in a beach. I dream of a world where no language is foreign to any of us. And this will be the day when language is no longer a barrier of communication, and this will be the day I lose my job as a translator!
