About the Raffle
This year's raffle was held on May 15th, 2002 at the Library of Pleasantville Public School in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.
Phil's Cash for Cancer Raffle has been held each spring since 1999. Created in loving memory of a wonderful father, Phil has passionately pursued his dream of helping others, just as his father Perry once had.
Tickets usually go on sale late March or early April. A limited number of tickets are printed. They are $2 each, and for every 5 tickets purchased, you will receive an entry for a Bonus Draw with a prize valued at no less than $300.
All proceeds from this event go to the Canadian Cancer Society, Major Mackenzie Unit, in Richmond Hill. In the past the money was directed to providing care and help to patients and their caregivers. Due to government changes in policies, these services are no longer within the CCS mandate.
We felt very strongly, as a family, that these services were vital and we were, in fact, recipients of these essential services. In light of these changes, we are very pleased to redirect the funds raised.
Our present policy is to direct all the monies donated to the CCS towards Cancer Research, specifically to the study and research of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
We will soon be preparing for Phil's 5th Annual Cash for Cancer Raffle.
If you are able to donate a prize or be a sponsor, please call (905) 770-7153 or
