| Philadelphia Metro Radio is a fire buff hobby group in the Philadelphia area. The membership is made up of people of all professions, with a general interest of fire "buffing" and photography. We listen to local fires, and report working fires and other major incidents to others over a two-way radio system, centered about 400 feet above the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. This radio system covers all of the surround counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We announce incidents in a professional manner and format, providing as much information about the incident as possible. We also meet in the City and discuss fire related topics. | On 3-25-06 at around 22:00 hours companies were dispatched for a brush fire in the area of 5th & Ellis in Colwyn Borough, Delaware County. 04-9 arrived reporting a vacant commercial building fully involved. Crews were in service with master stream operations. The building was a 1 story vacant masonry building with a similar vacant building as an exposure. | On 3-24-06 at around 22:00 hours, a tactical box was struck for the 9200 block of Horatio St. I was first to arrive on scene, and had fire showing on side "B" of a 1 1/2 story S/F/D. I quickly checked on the occupants and determined that all occupants had made it out, but a dog was still inside. Batt-13 and E-46 arrived moments later, and advanced an 1 3/4 attack line through the front door, making a quick knock of the fire. They then removed the dog to the front of the dwelling and performed CPR. The dog is believed to have survived.The fire was believed to be contained to the living room and kitchen areas on the side "A/B" corner. Batt-13 held the assignment to 1 & 1 and placed the fire under control in minutes. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| On 3-12-06 at just after midnight, a rubbish fire was dispatched for the 1500 block of N. Bailey St. A passing medic advised that they could see heavy fire and requested the box be struck out. Batt-3 arrived reporting a fully involved 3 story building with a full collapse. He then reported that fire had extended to the "B" and "D" exposures. | 2 ALARM DWELLING FIRE IN PHILADELPHIA | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On 1-22-06 at 02:34 crews were dispatched to 3313 N. 33rd St for a dwelling fire. The first in company reported heavy fire showing from the 2nd & 3rd floors and through the roof of a 3 story dwelling. Batt-3 arrived and struck out the 2nd alarm. The fire was contained to the original fire dwelling. Batt-3 placed the fire under control at about 03:15.
