My Testimony

Greetings!

Have you ever heard the expression, "late bloomer"? Well... that's what I consider myself to be because for 36 years I had no idea what my purpose, here on earth, was.

I won't go into details of what my life, before Christ, was like... only to say that I was as far from a relationship with Christ as the sun is from the moon. At 36 years of age, I was physically, emotionally and spiritually on the brink of death. A pastor's word to me was to be with my Christian friends. I called out "Jesus, help me!!" and in that moment all that held me in sinful bondage was removed. The darkness that had shadowed me was instantly turned to light. My outward expression of gratitude was baptism 6 weeks following.

I continued to live for the Lord, realizing that going to church on Sunday, Bible study and small groups was a good thing. But, I needed a steady diet of God's word so I enrolled in Praire Bible College for a one year course, The Explore Program. Academically, I failed miserably but being spiritually enlightened, I aced the course.

I continue to learn, grow and understand that the Lord made each one of us different for a reason and as such we all have been given different gifts to use for His glory. Jesus had come to this earth to serve, not to be served. I have had opportunities to serve the Lord through volunteering. Building homes for Habitat for Humanity and serving the homeless in a program called In From the Cold at 2 separate churches. I was also blessed to serve the Lord at Camp Evergreen for one year, leaving with their blessing as the Lord had called me out to serve Him by faith. My response was "Yes Lord... send me" and he, in turn, opened the doors for me to volunteer as a camp counselor at a Christian summer camp, Camp Okotoks.

Now, Praise God!!!, I am currently involved in two missions trips which will take place in November 2004 and February, 2005. Please take a step further into my life and where He is leading me to learn more of these important and worthy causes.
