Week 11 Studs and Duds
Studs
RB Brian Westbrook had a pretty good day running the ball, rushing 22 times for 102 yards. Given the week-by-week uncertainty of Westbrook's knee, seeing him have success running the ball this well is definately a positive.
K David Akers did his job today, going 2/2 on FGs. Last week during the Redskins game, a stat appeared stating that since the Eagles signed Akers away from Washington, the Skins have had 12 kickers. Akers is definately among the best in regards to kickers in the NFL.
DE Trent Cole might as well be known as "the rock" because week after week he is solid as a rock. Cole registered 1.5 sacks on the day and has yet again proved that he is the most consistent member of the Eagles defensive line.
Duds
At the beginning of the year, MLB Jeremiah Trotter promised a career year and now at week 11 he has failed to deliever on this promise. Trotter (and the other linebackers) were burned all day by Travis Henry and Vince Young allowing the Titans to run all over them.
It's hard to pick on a guy who only plays special teams, but LB Jason Short's unsportsmanlike penalty was pure stupidity. Short has a knack for mixing things up, but he crossed the line today and set a tone of an entire afternoon clouded by sloppy play and penalties.
Back again on the dud list, SS Michael Lewis saw limited play in week 11 and once again looked very shaky. Safe to say, Michael Lewis' days in Philadelphia are numbered.
Honorable Mention
Studs
KR/PR Reno Mahe would have been on the Stud list were it not for a late game fumble. Regardless, Mahe had a great game on the kickoffs helping the Eagles get good field position. The Birds' struggles on offense had nothing to do with the play of Mahe.
DE Darren Howard looked pretty good today registering a sack (in what was really two half sacks). A balanced attack of Cole and Howard on the ends is huge for this Eagles D.
Duds
Just a question...does TE Matt Schobel even play anymore? He has been a ghost in this Eagles offense in recent games.
Pretty much everything said about Trotter can be applied to LB Matt McCoy. McCoy's play in this game was awful as his missed tackles allowed Travis Henry to have a great day against the Eagles linebackers.
