PHOENIX STRIDERS ABOUT US PAGE
Phoenix Striders is a walking and running club in Basildon. The aim of the club is to build a walking and  running community with the idea to get people fitter and to look after themselves better  through exercise, what ever their age, gender, size or ability.

We meet three times a week for a variety of structured training for walkers and runners. Each session we will endeavour to provide a walking group, run/walk, slow run and faster run group, each being lead by a committee or senior club member.

Tuesday night is both a recovery night for those who have raced over the weekend and a slow easy pace for beginners and walkers with everyone being able to chose the most appropriate group for them.

Thursday night is walking, run/walking and runs which includes long runs of up to 7 miles, repetitions and interval training for those at that level.

Saturday is repetition and interval training of 200, 400, 800, 1K, 2K and 1 mile reps for runners and walkers looking to build strength, speed and stamina.

Training locations are:
Tuesdays- Markhams Chase Sports Centre, Markhams Chase, Laindon, Basildon  leaving at 7.15pm

Thursdays (May - Sept) Back of 'The Crown', Westley Heights off Staneway, Basildon starting 7.15pm

Thursdays(Sept - end April) Markhams Chase Sports Centre, Basildon (7.15pm)
