Phoenix Academy History

Phoenix Acedemy was not the first school started by Liam Cuyler Tiernan McNevin. He originally had a school for advanced learning in Italy (built in 1092); where he taught students leaving Hogwarts who wished for a higher education. In 1141 his blessed school was burnt down by his enemies. So he traveled the world in search of a Location for a new school. He founded another school in Russia, but in 1162, that too was burnt down. He moved east and traveled to the American Continet, and in 1193 he built a school in the Rocky mountains. The spot he had chosen had no Native American inhabitants and he named it Pheonix Acedemy, for it was risen out of the ashes of his other two schools.
There was no school of magic on either of the American continets, so instead of having his school be for advanced learning, he wished to teach those in the Americas European magic. After American was it's own country, the school taught only those on the north American continet (since the Spanish had built schools on the South American Continet) and after more American schools were built, Phoenix Academy decided that it would take any students willing to attend, but young Magic-users in the Rocky Mountain Area were the default students.

House History

When he first started recieving students, he realized that he could not have them all together; they got in many fights because of their personalities. So he made four "houses" and placed the students in each house based on their personalities.
{Leandor} was for the brave, and strong-willed.
{Arcanus} was for the mysterious and aloof.
{Luniara} was for the independant and outspoken.
And {Calidus} was for the trustworthy and peacable.

Description of Phoenix Academy

Phoenix Academy is located in the Rocky Mountains, so it is usually colder there. The school istelf is built in the actual mountains, carved by magic and some parts of the school actually poke out of the side. There are two major waterfalls near Phoenix Academy, the first one is small and it comes from higher above and forms a small river that goes from the north side of the campues to the south side of the campus. This river splits off and flows east at one point, breaking and forming a big waterfall which falls into a canyon lake. The great hall is underneath the big waterfall and it gets a spectaular view of it.
