Z-car lovers!
Nissan introduced the 300ZX in 1984. The Italian-inspired styling was a departure from the earlier Z-cars. It became sleeker, wider, more complex, more comfortable, and safer. The price it paid for this was, it became heavier, more expensive, less sports car-like, and more sports coupe/GT. The people who love these cars (and there are many!), appreciate the civilized, predictable, almost opulent feel to the car. The 1984-89 300ZX has been known for its exotic feel, without the exotic price (until the 1990's). It may not be the quintessential sports car, but it didn't leak, is easily repaired, is comfortable, durable, fuel efficient (for a car of its type), and extremely fun to drive, with competent, predictable road manners. People who own these fine sports coupes are very passionate about them. These cars had few options, they came standard with almost everything! Power steering, windows, locks, hatch and fuel door release, mirrors that were both power and heated, A/C, tilt-wheel, cruise control, rear window defroster and wiper, 8-way adjustable Recaro-style bucket seats, Clarion AM/FM/cassette stereo with power antenna, 4-wheel disc brakes, aluminum wheels with VR-rated tires (15" for non-turbo and 16" for turbo), passive alarm system, and of course, "Bitchin' Betty". She is the on-board computer voice that told you when your fuel was low, you left your headlights on, your right or left door was open, or you left your parking brake applied while driving. All this was standard equipment (I may have even left out a few). T-tops were an option in 1984 only. '85 and up they were standard. The other options were; digital display dash with fuel computer and accelerometer, automatic climate control, leather seats, and Bodysonic - a stereo enhancer that vibrated low bass frequencies through the seats. ******************************************************************************** In its first year, 1984, Nissan offered the 300ZX Anniversary edition. It had special fender flares, the anniversary plaque on the front fenders, and every concievable option. They were all turbo cars, with the only choice being 5-speed or auto trans. Only 5000 of these special Z-cars were made, and only about 1500-2000 are left today. This car is a true collectors item. You'd be hard pressed to get one of their passionate owners to sell you one!

I've owned 3 of these cars, a 1984na 5-speed, 1986 turbo AT, and currently have a titanium 1986na 5-speed. I've currently only got a picture of my '86 turbo scanned. As soon as I get more, I'll post them straightaway (I just love that word!).
