Welcome to my Polymer Clay Gallery

The elements of form and composition are inherent in nature and art forms. As a dancer, I translate these concepts into movement. Dancers make and move through shapes in space. We vary our timings and rhythms to add dynamics to the dance. We change and manipulate energy to add texture and subtleties to our work. I approach designing with polymer clay in much the same way. The characteristics of each piece is a result of playing with the elements of form and choosing the details that best allow each piece to have its own voice.

The following pieces were Bali inspired.

barong bamboo container

A barong (mythical creature that represents "good") head sits atop the lid of this bamboo-like container.

tower vessel

This tower vessel was an exploration in finding proportions for volume and height. Repetition of the "cylinder" in construction was used to unify the design. Decorative details were also repeated to help consolidate the piece.

choker

Curves in the basic shaping of this necklace were contrasted by the repetition of linear motifs in its main piece.

The photo below is a potpourri of some vessels, bowls, and jewelry that I've designed. All of my vessels and bowls are shaped by hand and go through multiple bakings.
