Recommended by readers
The following places were especially recommended by readers:
Dinosaur Valley State Park, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
Glen Rose
You can hike right next to these incredible, real dinosaur tracks. They even have two life-sized models of dinosaurs. Fossil Rim has some great animal encounters - we even got to see a bald eagle soaring high. You can get a great view at the cafe for free, if you drive past the entrance on CR 2008 and make a right on CR 2009 to the back entrance. There are also a gift shop and petting zoo you can visit free. - Morgan S., Houston
Texas Sculpture Garden

Allan Saxe Park
3501 Russell Curry Road Arlington
There is a nice small lake with fish in it. Lots of kids go there to fish. It is a small and friendly park with playground equipment. - Allan S., Arlington
