The parents of Patrick Garland, and his wife Elizabeth McPoland, who were married on 16 September 1857, in Togher Parish, County Louth, Ireland. Patrick and Elizabeth (Bessie) had the following children: Thomas (b-20 Oct 1858), Mary (b-20 July 1860), Michael (b-15 Sep 1862), Patrick (b-5 Nov 1864), John (b-7 Aug 1868), Elizabeth (b-6 Nov 1870), James (b-3 Mar 1873),Margaret (b-4 Nov 1875), Julia (b-4 Nov 1877), and Bernard (b-10 Apr 1880). Francis and Bridget were married prior to 1837, and had the following known children: Mary (1837), Walter (1838) in Co. Cavan, Ireland, Catherine(1840) in Ireland, Ann/Annie B.(1842), in Ireland, and Michael (1843), in Ireland. Francis emigrated to the US in 1850 and settled in Massachusetts. Any information on the family of Patrick Gernon, who was born on June 1, 1827, in Killany, County Louth, Ireland, and who died July 21, 1905 in Pallavaram, Madras, India. He married Bridget O'Meara (1830-1862) in Dunkerstown, County Louth, in 1848, and they had four children; Hannah (b.Jan 30, 1852), Joseph William (b.Jul 30, 1854), Mary Anne (b.Jun 25, 1857) and Jean Henryetta (b.May 20, 1860). Bridget died in India in 1862, and Patrick married Ellen Spottiswood April 18, 1865. Patrick and Ellen had seven children; John Hugh (b.Nov 24, 1866), Patrick Daniel (b.Oct 12, 1868), James William (b.Aug 20, 1870 d.1871), Charles Remondy (b.Sep 23, 1872),Albert Michael (b.1875 d.1878),
