Alaskan Adventure
(More of the Tour)

As we proceeded along the coast, we observed even more wildlife, mostly birds.

We briefly saw one whale on the tour, a humpback.  Unfortunately, I was not able to get a picture of it.  I did manage to take some pictures of other marine mammals however, like these kayakers:

We also saw many fishing boats in the bay

Here's another

The one thing I can say about Ressurection Bay is that the view was beautiful in every direction.  Here is a view of one of the glaciers we saw.  Actually, there are 2 glaciers here that meet at the ocean.  It is like two rivers of ice.

Here is another view of the dual rivers of ice.

A close-up shows the immensity of the glaciers that exends into the Kenai Ice Fields that cover over 100 square miles.  Note the size of the trees at the foot of the glacier..

Ice meeting the ocean is not unusual here

Another nice view

Here is an old World War II bunker that was taken over by hostile forces (seagulls).
