Having some forsight, Mark arranged a cabin for us to stay in during the last 4 days of our visit. This was unquestionably the best part of our vacation. We moved in on July 6 and the cabin was absolutely beautiful. And, it was cheaper than the hotel in Anchorage. Here is a view from the front.
And a view of the Kenai Mountain Range from the rear deck.
This picture was taken around 11 p.m. We all took hot showers and
refreshed ourselves for the remaining days to come.
There were two other cabins across the driveway.
Here is a picture of the main house.
The back deck had a barbeque and table for dining..
And inside there was a television! Here is Greg
and Jennifer getting their first look at TV after a week.
The front of the cabin was landscaped like a park.
One day returning from the market, I found a moose lying in the road not
100 feet from the cabin. The girls discovered "moose nuggets" beside
the cabin the next day.
The owners of the property had a pet pig and the girls
made friends very quicly with some potatoes. We found out later that
Porky was to be the winter bacon for the family.
On July 7, we were scheduled to fish with Mark for King Salmon in the Kenai.
