| The AFL kicked off in Boston in a game between the Boston Patriots and Denver Broncos. The Patriots lost their first game 13-10. A week later they would earn their first victory by defeating the New York Titans 28-24. Their first home victory, a 34-28 win over the Oakland Raiders would spark a three game winning streak that would their record to 5-5. The Patriots would run out of gas and lose the final four games of the season to finish their inaugral season as 5-9 and in last place of the AFL East. |
