Bandit-The Abandoned One

Bandit was first noticed by a PFA Agra employee when he was on call for another complaint. While passing a heap of rubbish a movement in it caught his eye. What he mistook to be a bundle of dirty white cloth was in reality a small black and white dog of indeterminable breed. It was full of ticks and it lay almost inert with shallow breathing. He immediately stopped his scooter and approached it. It did not even react when it was picked up, not even a feeble fight of resentment. It had a collar round its neck so we knew that it was at one time someones pet. Because it was infested with ticks we knew that it was not really cared for. It also had mange. It was brought to the shelter and immediate treatment was given. The ticks were taken care off and it was washed and water was given. It greedily lapped up the water. It was that thirsty! Loving care was given and was named Bandit because of the black patch over one of its eye. One of our well wisher Carolien Roovers who regularly does volunteer work when in India washed her with potassium permanganate regularly for 5 days for her mange, and she showed quick improvement. Now Bandit is a quiet member of the PFA clan and safe in the knowledge that she has nothing to fear. She is in loving hands.
