Int. Dawson�s Room (Night Day 1)
Dawson and Jen are having Movie Night. They are sitting against the headboard of his bed watching American Pie.
Dawson: You know I can relate to this movie.
Jen: Why did you go to band camp?
Dawson: (throwing her a look) You know that�s not what I meant.
Jen: (giggling) Sorry. (turning serious) Let me guess you can relate to guys in their senior year of high school who are desperate to lose their virginity because they think they are missing out on something great that everyone else is doing.
Dawson stands up.
Dawson: You say that sarcastically, but there�s something to this movie and why it was so popular.
Jen: It�s funny?
Dawson: (starting to pace) Guys can relate to feeling like they are the last virgin.
Jen: Dawson not everyone has had sex.
Dawson: You�ve had sex.
Jen: Henry hasn�t.
Dawson: True but I�m sure he will eventually. I mean I�m not saying it�s because you�re this sexual deviant, but you love him, and probably will have sex with him.
Jen: Eventually.
Dawson: Right and Andie has had sex, and even Jack has had sex even though he�s gay.
Jen: Dawson...
Dawson: Pacey has had more than enough sex, and is probably having sex with Joey right now.
Cut to.
Int. Doug�s Apartment (Night Day 1)
Pacey is on his knees sanding the kitchen cabinets. Sweat is on his forehead, and he pauses to wipe it off before going back to sanding.
Cut to.
Int. Potter B&B (Night Day 1)
Joey is kneeling in the bathtub scrubbing it. She pauses to wipe the sweat from her forehead before returning to scrubbing the tub.
Cut to.
Int. Dawson�s Room (Night Day 1)
Jen: I don�t think Pacey and Joey are having sex.
Dawson: What makes you say that?
Jen: Just a feeling.
Dawson: But you don�t know for sure.
Jen: No, I don�t but...
Dawson: (cutting her off) They were alone for three months on his boat. We�re talking about Pacey here. What do you think happened?
Jen: We�re also talking about Joey, and the fact that Pacey loves her.
Dawson: I just don�t see how they could not have done it.
Jen: Well Dawson, I hate to say it but it�s also none of our business.
Dawson: I can�t remember a time when Joey�s life was none of my business.
Jen doesn�t answer and Dawson continues.
Dawson: It�s just me and Joey have grown up together. We experienced everything together. It hurts knowing she�s having all these new experiences without me.
Jen: Dawson, you experienced a lot of things without Joey.
Dawson: Like what?
Jen: Your first kiss, your first girlfriend, your first taste of alcohol, your first time skinny dipping, and I don�t even want to think of what kinda of experiences you shared with that Eve chick.
Dawson grins sheepishly.
Dawson: We don�t need to talk about that.
Jen: But the point is your life hasn�t been about Joey as much as you�d like to think. And just as you have had all these experiences without her, she has had, and will have, experiences she doesn�t share with you.
Dawson: When did you get so smart, and analytical?
Jen: Well this one time at band camp...
Dawson glares at Jen before diving on the bed and tickling her. Jen starts laughing and screaming stop at the same time.
ACT 1
Int. Leary�s House (Morning Day 2)
Dawson is walking down the stairs of his house carrying his school stuff. He reaches the bottom and turns towards the kitchen. When he gets to the door he stops, and following his gaze we see Mitch and Gale kissing, and groping pretty heavily. Dawson gets a huge grin on his face, and leaves without saying anything. Focusing on Mitch and Gale they continue to kiss. Finally they break apart.
Gale: (breathlessly) I have to get to the restaurant.
Mitch: (running his finger lightly down her cheek) And I have to get to school.
Gale kisses him again.
Mitch: Can we meet for lunch?
Gale: Actually I have a doctor�s appointment today at lunch.
Mitch: (concerned) Is everything all right?
Gale: Everything�s fine. I�ve just been so worn out and tired lately, I thought I should go to the doctors and maybe see about getting some vitamins. I�m not getting any younger. I should be taking better care of myself.
Mitch puts his arm around her, and pulls her to him in a hug.
Mitch: Are you sure you�re okay?
Gale: I�m sure it�s nothing.
Gale stepping out of his embrace gives him a quick kiss.
Gale: Have a good day at school.
Gale starts to leave.
Mitch: Call me if anything is wrong.
Gale turns back around.
Gale: I�m fine Mitch. Don�t worry. I�ll see you tonight.
Mitch: I love you.
Gale: I love you too.
Gale holds his stare for a moment before walking out the door. Mitch�s smile falls as he thinks about his wife�s doctor�s appointment.
Int. McPhee Kitchen (Morning Day 2)
Andie is standing at the counter with her schoolbooks, and notebooks spread everywhere. She is going through one of her notebook when Jack walks in. She starts getting frustrated as she is obviously looking for something.
Andie: (frustrated) It was right here.
Andie picks up her notebook and shakes it, but nothing falls out.
Jack: Chill out, what are you looking for?
Andie: My personal statement. I�m supposed to show it to Mr. Milo today. I put it right here last night.
Andie picks up the notebook again and starts flipping roughly through the pages. Jack reaches over and stills her hands.
Jack: I�m sure it�s here. Did you look in your other notebooks?
Andie: (angrily) I put it in this one.
Jack opens another notebook sitting on the counter, and pulls out some papers. He holds them up.
Jack: Is this it?
Andie looks at them, and slowly takes them. She smiles weakly at Jack.
Andie: Thanks.
Jack: No problem. What�s breakfast in the McPhee household without a psychotic episode?
Mr. McPhee walks into the kitchen while Jack is talking.
Mr. McPhee: Don�t joke about your sister�s condition.
Jack: I wasn�t.
Andie: (at the same time) I don�t have a condition anymore.
Silence.
Mr. McPhee: I�ll be in Providence for the week. I�ll call.
Mr. McPhee starts to walk out of the kitchen but stops. He places a kiss on the top of Andie�s head.
Mr. McPhee: Take care of each other while I�m gone.
Andie: (a little above a whisper) Bye Dad.
Jack: (looking down) See ya.
Mr. McPhee looks at them once more before walking out of the kitchen.
Jack: Andie I�m sorry. I didn�t mean...
Andie: (cutting him off) I know Jack.
They smile at each other.
Ext. Docks (Morning Day 2)
Pacey is walking towards the dock where True Love is. He walks down the dock approaching a middle-aged man standing there.
Pacey: (calling out to the man) Mr. Monroe?
Mr. Monroe: You must be Pacey Witter.
Pacey: That�s me.
Pacey reaches the man and they shake hands.
Mr. Monroe: The boat looks beautiful, and everything is working?
Pacey: Everything is perfect. I just got back recently from sailing to Florida, and she held up perfectly. When I got back I had everything checked. She�s in perfect running condition.
Mr. Monroe: Excellent.
Pacey: So we decided on three hundred up front in cash.
Mr. Monroe: Of course.
Mr. Monroe pulls out his wallet and counts out three hundred dollar bills. He hands them to Pacey. Pacey takes them and smiles.
Mr. Monroe: Do you mind me asking how a young man like yourself acquires a boat like this.
Pacey: Luck. I got it after the hurricane for cheap, and spent a year fixing it up.
Mr. Monroe: She looks great. You must love the boat very much to put that amount of effort into it.
Pacey: I do. It means more to me than you could know.
Mr. Monroe: So why are you renting it?
Pacey: Extra money.
Mr. Monroe: Let me guess a girl?
Pacey: The most beautiful girl.
Mr. Monroe: The things we do for love. I�ll have her back tomorrow evening, Pacey.
Pacey: Thank you.
Pacey shakes his hand again.
Int. Capeside High (Morning Day 2)
Jen and Dawson are walking down the hall.
Dawson: And they were making out in the kitchen. I mean they used to do that all the time, and I�d get all embarrassed, but now I can�t help but smile. It�s like things are back to normal. Well, with my family anyways.
Jen: Dawson...
Dawson: I�m not dwelling just being honest.
Jen: (giving him a skeptical look) Right.
Dawson: I�m fine. Sure I�m probably the oldest virgin in Capeside, but I�m fine.
Jen: Dawson.
Dawson: (cutting her off) I�m fine. My life is great. My family�s back together, and I�m starting a new film very soon.
Jen: (changing the subject) How is that going?
Dawson: Good. I finished the script. Now I just have to start pre production.
Jen: Need any help?
Dawson: Well Andie already offered to help me, but I could use all the help I can get.
Jen: You know you can always count on me.
Dawson: Thanks.
Jen notices something down the hall.
Jen: You know where I live. I gotta run.
Jen takes off down the hall.
Dawson: (watching her leave) See ya Jen.
Dawson pauses for a moment to watch Jen embrace Henry before walking off.
Ext. Capeside High (Later Day 2)
Joey and Jack are sitting outside on a bench talking.
Joey: He sounds great Jack. I�m so happy for you.
Jack: Thanks. Charles is great, so much more understanding than Ethan.
Joey: Do I sense a bit of love in the air?
Jack: I wouldn�t go that far. I mean I only met him a month ago.
Joey: Sometimes love is that quick.
Jack: Like you would know?
Joey: What�s that supposed to mean?
Jack: Well if I�m not mistaken the two men you�ve loved you�ve know all your life.
Joey: True, but with Pacey it changed so quickly.
Jack: (smiling) I think the love in the air is yours.
Joey: I�m so happy with Pacey, Jack. (she pauses) Is it okay to talk about this with you?
Jack: (surprised) Yeah, why wouldn�t it be?
Joey: I don�t know. I mean you�re Andie�s brother, and I know she�s upset by this, and well it just seems like Pacey and I are on the outside now. I have no one to talk to about him.
Jack: You can talk to me, and Andie...well she is upset, but she�s dealing with it. She doesn�t hate you Joey.
Joey: (smiling weakly) That�s good to know.
Jack: So what do you have to say about Pacey that you have no one to tell?
Joey: He�s so amazing Jack. I can�t ever remember being as happy as I am with him.
Pacey comes up behind her and wraps his arms around her.
Jack: Speak of the devil.
Pacey: Hey Jackers.
Jack: Don�t call me that.
Pacey grins, and starts kissing Joey�s neck.
Jack: I can tell when I�m not wanted.
Jack stands up.
Joey: Jack.
Jack: Yeah.
Joey: Thanks.
Jack: It�s nothing. See ya Pacey.
Pacey: (lifting his head from her neck) Bye Jackers.
Jack just shakes his head and walks away as Pacey goes back to kissing Joey�s neck.
Joey: Pacey, that wasn�t very nice to chase him away.
Pacey: (whispering in her ear) Sorry, I just missed you this weekend.
Joey leans back into his kisses.
Joey: I missed you too.
Pacey: What do you say we get out of here?
Joey: We have class.
Pacey starts nibbling on her neck again.
Joey: (lightly scolding him) Pacey stop that.
Pacey: Do you really want me to stop?
Joey: No.
Pacey goes back to her neck, but Joey stands up.
Joey: But we have to get to class.
She holds her hand out to him.
Joey: Come on you slacker.
Pacey sighs but grabs her hand, and Joey pulls him towards the school.
Int. Capeside High (Later Day 2)
Andie is walking down the hall. She walks to Mr. Milo�s office, and knocks. Mr. Milo opens the door.
Mr. Milo: Hello Andie.
Andie: Hi Mr. Milo. I brought my essay and well I would really like to talk about it, because I�m not sure if I should talk about my families problems...(her voice trails off as an attractive young man steps out from behind Mr. Milo) I�m sorry I can wait if your busy.
The young man�s name is Daniel. He has jet black, spiky hair, and blue eyes. He has his eyebrow pierced and in the tank top he is wearing you can see the tribal band tattoo around his upper arm.
Daniel: I was just leaving.
Daniel walks by Mr. Milo.
Mr. Milo: Remember what we talked about Daniel.
Daniel: (rolling his eyes) Yeah okay.
Daniel walks by Andie and she turns to watch him walk away.
Mr. Milo: So Andie why don�t you come in and we can discuss your essay.
Andie is still watching Daniel�s retreating form.
Mr. Milo: Andie?
Andie snaps her head back to Mr. Milo.
Andie: Right my essay.
Mr. Milo steps back into his office. Andie follows him inside, and shuts the door.
Int. Capeside High (Afternoon of Day 2)
Jen and Henry are standing by his locker.
Jen: So I have something special planned for us tonight, can you come over after practice?
Henry: (throwing some stuff in his locker) Yeah, I think I can make it.
Jen: You think?
Henry: (smiling) I can definitely make it.
Henry kisses Jen.
Henry: What do you have planned?
Jen: (running her hand down his chest) It�s a surprise (she starts playing with the waistband of his pants) but I guarantee you�re going to like it.
Henry: (closing his eyes) I can skip practice.
Jen: (laughing) Nope the fun doesn�t start till 5, so meet me then at my house.
Henry: I�ll be there.
Jen pulls Henry into a kiss. Dawson rounds the corner, and sighs when he sees Jen and Henry. He walks past them and continues down the hall. As he turns the corner he sees Joey and Pacey kissing by her locker. He abruptly turns the other way.
Focusing on Joey and Pacey.
Pacey pulls away from their kiss, and continues to caresses her face with his hand.
Pacey: I can�t stand not seeing you.
Joey: I know. It�s driving me crazy too.
They kiss again.
Joey: Let�s get out of here.
Pacey: What?
Joey: It�s one class, and between Doug the slave driver, and Bessie working me non stop at the B&B we never get to be together.
Pacey: Let�s go.
Pacey takes her hand, and they take off down the hall.
Fade out...
ACT 2
Int. Capeside High (Afternoon of Day 2)
Dawson walks out of the school at the end of the day. He walks down the steps, and starts heading out when Andie walks up to him.
Andie: Hey Dawson.
Dawson: Hey Andie. How�s it going?
Andie: Good. How are you?
Dawson: (not very convincing) Okay.
Andie: Is something wrong?
Dawson: No, why would something be wrong?
Andie: No reason.
Andie smiles nervously.
Dawson: I�m just feeling a bit lonely. I mean Jen has Henry, Joey�s with Pacey, and even Jack has a boyfriend. I just feel like the only person without someone.
Andie: I don�t have anyone.
Dawson: (draping his arm around her) Maybe we should form the Lonely Hearts Club.
Andie: (laughing) We could be miserable together.
Dawson: That�s the general idea. We could start this afternoon.
Andie: What?
Dawson: (letting his arm drop) I was going to do some test shots down by the creek. You know just get used to being behind the camera again.
Andie: Are you going to start filming soon?
Dawson: I hope so. The script is done. I just need to get actors, find locations, and well a crew all for free, or at best dirt cheap.
Andie: Well I�ll be on your crew, and I work for free for friends.
Dawson: Thanks Andie, so what do you say you come with me this afternoon. I�ll help you get familiar with the camera.
Andie glances off, and clearly sees something over Dawson�s shoulder.
Andie: You know what I can�t today.
Dawson: (face falling) Okay, another time then.
Andie: Definitely, and Dawson I�m really looking forward to helping on your movie.
Dawson: Thanks I�m excited about you helping me.
They share a smile.
Dawson: I�ll see you later.
Dawson walks off, and Andie glances over at what distracted her before. Following her gaze we see Daniel sitting at a table reading some papers.
Int. McPhee House (Afternoon Day 2)
Jack is standing at the mirror in the hall messing with his hair. The doorbell rings, and he straightens his shirt before walking over and opening the door revealing Charles.
Jack: Hey.
Charles: Hi Jack.
They hug.
Jack: Come in.
Jack steps back allowing Charles into the house.
Charles: So this is where you live?
Jack: Yup, the McPhee abode.
Charles: It�s nice. Very...
Jack: (filling in the word for him) Overly decorated.
Charles laughs.
Jack: My mother decorated and she was very much into appearance.
Charles: Was??? (growing serious) Is she gone?
Jack: No. I mean she�s not dead. She�s just somewhere else.
Charles: I�m sorry.
Jack: No it�s okay. She has some medical problems and is in a hospital right now.
Charles: I�m sorry.
Jack: Thanks, but it�s okay. It�s tough, but she�s getting better, and that�s what�s important.
Charles: (changing the subject) So where�s your sister, and your dad?
They walk into the living room.
Jack: My dad is in Providence for the week, and I have no idea where Andie is.
Charles: You�re dad�s away on business?
Jack: Yeah. The business is based in Providence, and he has to go there often.
Charles: It must be tough.
Jack: We�re used to it.
Jack sits down on the couch, and Charles sits down very close to him.
Charles: So then no one is home.
Jack: (swallowing heavily) No one is home.
Int. Pacey�s Car (Afternoon Day 2)
The car is parked by the creek. Inside, Pacey is sitting in the passenger seat with Joey straddling his lap. They are involved in some heavy making out which is causing the windows to fog over. Pacey�s hands are up the back of Joey�s shirt, while her hands are entwined in his hair. Joey pulls back.
Joey: Bessie is going to kill me.
Pacey: Don�t leave me yet.
Joey leans in and kisses Pacey passionately. Pacey�s hands push her shirt up, and Joey pulls away from him to allow him to slip her shirt over her head. As soon as her shirt is gone, Joey kisses Pacey again. Pacey kisses down her neck to her bare shoulder. He gently nips at her bare skin.
Joey: I miss this so much.
Pacey: (leaning back to look in her eyes) So do I.
Joey: I miss True Love.
Pacey: She�ll be back tomorrow, and we can hide away there as much as we want.
Joey: Or as much as our wardens will let us.
Pacey smiles before bringing his lips to Joey�s again. Joey leans into the kiss pressing her chest against his trying to get as close as possible. Joey kisses Pacey�s throat, and he leans his head back and closes his eyes. She kisses up to his ear.
Joey: (whispering in his ear) Why�d you rent the boat?
Pacey: (let�s out a little groan because she stopped) For money.
Joey: What do you need money for?
Pacey: Stop being so nosy, and start doing what you were doing before.
Joey smiles, and sucks on his earlobe. Pacey whimpers.
Ext. Capeside High (Afternoon of Day 2)
Andie is walking towards Daniel as he�s sitting on top of a table reading some papers. She takes a deep breath.
Andie: Hi.
Daniel looks up and nods before returning to his reading.
Andie: What are you reading?
Daniel: (not looking up) Just some notes I made.
Andie: Oh.
Andie shifts nervously, and Daniel looks up.
Daniel: You�re the girl from earlier in Mr. Milo�s office.
Andie: (smiling because he remembered) Yeah.
Daniel: The one with family problems.
Andie�s face falls, and she looks at her shoes.
Andie: (quietly) Yeah.
Daniel: Sit down.
Andie looks up surprised, and sits next to Daniel.
Andie: I�m Andie. Andie McPhee.
Daniel: Hi Andie McPhee. I�m Daniel.
Andie: Nice to meet you Daniel. Are you new in town?
Daniel: Pretty much so. Just moved here last month.
Andie: I was new too. Well two years ago. We moved here from Providence. What about you?
Daniel: Boston.
Andie: Why�d you move?
Daniel: My parents wanted to live in a nice little town where they didn�t have to lock their door.
Andie: That�s Capeside.
Daniel: I�ve noticed.
Andie glances down at his papers.
Andie: What are you reading?
Daniel: You just love to ask questions don�t you?
Andie: Sorry, I was just curious.
Daniel: It�s music.
Andie: You�re a musician?
Daniel: I�d like to think so.
Andie: (laughs lightly) I�d love to hear you play something sometime.
Daniel: Sure. We�ll have to arrange that.
Silence falls over them, and Daniel starts reading his papers again. Andie looks down at him trying to think of something to say.
Andie: Did that hurt?
Andie lifts her hand to touch his eyebrow stud, but pulls her hand away when he looks up. Daniel smiles.
Daniel: Not so much.
He takes her hand and places her fingertips on his eyebrow. He lets her hand go, and Andie touches the stud lightly.
Daniel: (with a cocky grin) See I don�t bite.
Andie smiles shyly as a slight blush creeps up on her face.
Int. McPhee House (Afternoon of Day 2)
Continuation of the Jack and Charles scene from before. They are sitting rather close on the couch, and Charles is pulling away from a kiss. He gently caresses Jack�s face.
Charles: I really like you Jack.
Jack: I like you too.
Charles: And our relationship is great.
Jack: (getting nervous) It is.
Charles: I�m just wondering why it is that the first time you invite me over to your house is when everyone is gone.
Jack: (swallowing the lump in his throat) Ummm... (pausing) I�m not sure.
Charles: It�s okay Jack to move forward in a relationship when you care about the other person, and I do care about you Jack.
Jack: I care about you too.
Charles: Good.
Jack inches away from Charles.
Jack: But I�m not ready for our relationship to go there.
Charles pulls his hand away from Jack.
Charles: Okay.
Ext. Near the Creek (Afternoon of Day 2)
From the viewer of Dawson�s video camera, we see the creek. The camera pans down the creek, and then up into the neighboring landscape. The camera passes by trees, and bushes, and flashes by Pacey�s parked car. The camera jerks back to the car, and Dawson lowers the camera. He stares at the parked car, with fogged out windows, and slight sway obviously caused by movement from inside. Dawson sighs.
Dawson: (muttering to himself) I swear everyone is getting it on but me.
Realization suddenly hits Dawson that it is in fact Pacey�s car. His face goes pale, and he nearly drops his camera. He stands paralyzed as he stares at Pacey�s car. Finally Dawson tenses up, and starts backing away. After a few steps backwards he turns around and takes off.
Ext. Jen�s Porch (Afternoon of Day 2)
Henry walks up to the porch carrying a bouquet of flowers, and knocks on the door. Grams opens the door and smiles at Henry.
Grams: Hello Henry.
Henry: Hello Mrs. Ryan. How are you today?
Grams: Just fine thank you. Jennifer will be down in a minute. Why don�t you come inside, and we can put those lovely flowers in some water.
Henry: Thank you.
Henry follows Grams into the house.
Int. Jen�s House (Afternoon Day 2)
Jen is in her room. She is standing in front of the mirror smoothing her dress. She turns away from the mirror, and grabs her purse. She opens it and digs around in it for a bit. She pulls out a condom, and then replaces it. She snaps her purse closed before leaving her room and heading downstairs. She walks into the kitchen to find Henry and Grams laughing while Grams is putting the flowers in a vase.
Jen: What�s so funny?
Grams: Henry was just telling me about football practice today.
Henry: Coach was so distracted today he kept forgetting the plays. And finally he just said, Henry throw the ball to whoever is open.
Jen laughs at his story.
Jen: I guess he is still in the clutches of newlywed bliss.
Grams: It�s so nice to see their family back together.
Jen: It is. It�s good for Dawson too especially now.
Henry: (abruptly changing the subject) I brought you flowers.
Jen: (looking at the flowers in the vase) They�re beautiful. Thank you.
Henry: So are you going to tell me where we are going now?
Jen: Patience Parker. You�ll find out soon enough.
Jen grabs the picnic basket off the table, and grabs Henry�s hand.
Jen: Thanks Grams, I�ll see you later.
Grams: Goodbye Jennifer. Goodbye Henry. Have fun.
Jen is tugging Henry out the door.
Jen: We will.
They walk out the door and step onto the porch again.
Henry: So we�re going on a picnic?
Jen: Yes, but that�s not the surprise.
Henry: (with a grin) Okay.
They walk off the porch, but Jen stops when she hears something breaking at Dawson�s house. The sound came from Dawson�s room.
Jen: Hold on Henry.
Henry: (slightly annoyed) What now?
Jen: Something�s wrong with Dawson. I�ll be right back.
Jen takes off before Henry can protest. Henry stares after her obviously annoyed.
Int. Dawson�s Room (Afternoon Day 2)
Dawson is standing in the middle of his room. He is angry, and crying at the same time. The remnants of a glass jar are on his floor, as well as books, clothes, papers, and other stuff Dawson had thrown in frustrated anger. He climbs onto his bed, and in one quick motion rips down the Imagine poster. He crumples it up into a ball, and throws it onto the floor with the rest of the mess. He hops down from his bed, and looks at the painting of him and Joey that Aunt Gwen gave him. He picks it up.
Jen: Dawson don�t.
Dawson snaps around to find Jen standing by his window.
Dawson: What are you doing here?
Jen: I heard the commotion of your little destructive rampage. What happened?
Dawson looks down at the painting and tears well in his eyes. Jen walks over to him, and gently grabs onto the painting.
Jen: You�ll regret it later.
Dawson releases the painting and Jen sets it on the desk.
Jen: Dawson?
Dawson: They were having sex.
Jen: Who was?
Dawson: Who do you think?
Jen: Pacey and Joey???
Dawson: Yes Pacey and Joey, and I saw them.
Jen: (shocked, and sympathetic) Oh Dawson.
Dawson: I mean I didn�t see them see them, but I saw the car.
Jen: Maybe...
Dawson: (cutting her off) There is no maybe Jen. The car was shaking like someone was getting it on. Like they were getting it on.
Jen: Dawson, you had to know it was a very real possibility that it would happen, and I�m sorry you had to see it, but...
Dawson: (cutting her off again) I mean how could they. How could they have sex in a car? Joey deserves better than that. (laughing bitterly) She deserves a flat surface at least.
Jen: I�m so sorry Dawson.
Jen wraps her arms around him, and pulls him into a hug.
Dawson: I think I�d be better off not knowing.
Jen: We�d all be better off not knowing some things.
Jen continues to hug Dawson as he silently cries.

ACT 3
Ext. Downtown Capeside (Evening of Day Two)
Andie and Daniel are walking down the street talking.
Daniel: So what do people do around here for fun?
Andie: There�s not much to do. We sort of have to make our own fun.
Daniel: And what kind of fun do you make Andie?
Andie: (stammering) I just well you know hang out with friends, and study. I study a lot.
Daniel: You�re rather ambitious aren�t you?
Andie: Yeah I am. I mean it�s good to have goals, and to achieve those goals you have to work hard, and be dedicated.
Daniel stops and sits on a bench. Andie sits next to him.
Daniel: So what goals do you have?
Andie: To go to Harvard.
Daniel: Why Harvard?
Andie: Cause it�s Harvard.
Daniel laughs.
Daniel: I think that perhaps what you need is to have some fun.
Andie: You think I�m boring.
Daniel: Not boring, just a regular Goodie Two Shoes.
Andie: (hurt) I�m what??
Daniel: A Goodie Two Shoes. You don�t drink, don�t smoke, what do you do?
Andie: (offended) You don�t know me well enough to know that.
Daniel: Call it a hunch. You�re dying to loosen up though, aren�t you?
Andie: I�m loose.
Daniel raises his eyebrows at her statement.
Andie: Okay that came out totally wrong. I don�t mean I�m loose. I just mean I have fun. I know how to have fun.
Daniel: So what do you say we have some fun?
Andie: What kind of fun?
Daniel looks across the street, and Andie follows his gaze. Andie looks back at him nervously. Daniel smiles and winks at her.
Daniel: You game?
Int. Pacey�s Car (Evening of Day 2)
Their marathon make out session has moved to the back seat. Pacey is laying on top of Joey shirtless himself now. Pacey moves from kissing her mouth to kissing her neck. Joey runs her hands down his back, and pulls him tighter against her body. Pacey moans, and pulls away.
Pacey: (breathlessly) Jo, we gotta stop.
Joey: (just as breathless) I know.
Joey pulls him into another long heated kiss. Pacey finally pulls away. He rests his forehead against hers.
Pacey: We can�t do this now.
Joey: I know. (pause) Why?
Pacey lifts his head and caresses her cheek.
Pacey: Your first time, our first time, is not going to be in the back seat of a car.
Joey: You�re right.
Pacey: (with a grin) Unfortunately.
Joey smiles. Pacey sits up, and Joey pulls her legs up to her chest as she sits up as well. Pacey picks up Joey�s shirt from the floor, and hands it to her.
Joey: Thanks.
Joey pulls it over her head. Pacey grabs his shirt, and does the same. Pacey motions for Joey to come to him, and she slides over and rests her head on his shoulder. Pacey puts his arm around her, and kisses the top of her head.
Joey: Bessie�s going to kill me.
Pacey: Just tell her it�s my fault.
Joey: (looking up) It is all your fault isn�t it?
Pacey: Yes all my fault. I mean I dragged you out of school kicking and screaming, and held you captive in my car all afternoon against your will.
Joey kisses him.
Pacey: Shall I drive you home Josephine?
Joey nods, and Pacey climbs into the front seat, and behind the wheel.
Int. McPhee House (Evening of Day 2)
Jack and Charles are sitting at the kitchen counter eating dinner. They eat silently for a while.
Charles: Jack.
Jack looks up but Charles pauses.
Jack: Yeah.
Charles: I just want to be sure you are okay with earlier.
Jack: That I�m okay with earlier? I�m the one who stopped you.
Charles: I know, and that�s fine, but I want to you to know that I�m not pushing.
Jack: I know.
Charles: Okay, because we don�t have to have sex.
Jack: I�m just not ready to... (his voice trails off)
Charles: Have sex with a gay guy?
Jack: Yeah (looking down) I mean I�m just getting comfortable with the kissing part.
Charles reaches across the table and rests his hand over Jacks.
Charles: There�s no rush Jack, but eventually every relationship has to move onto the next level.
Jack: I know.
Charles: But not right now.
Jack: Thanks.
Charles smiles.
Int. Dawson�s House (Night of Day 2)
Dawson is picking up the mess he made earlier. He picks up a few books and stacks them on his desk. He starts gathering papers of the floor. He stoops down and drops the papers as he picks up the crumbled Imagine poster. Dawson pulls it open again and smoothes it on the floor. Sadness washes over his face as he is obviously thinking about Joey. Pain replaces the sadness as his thoughts turn to what he saw earlier that day.
Dawson stands up, and rushes out of his room, and down the stairs. He sticks his head into the kitchen. Mitch is sitting at the table with papers spread out in front of him, but he is staring off into space with a worried look on his face.
Dawson: Dad I�m going out.
Mitch looks over at Dawson not really having heard what Dawson just said.
Mitch: (nodding) Okay.
Dawson: (noticing Mitch�s odd behavior) Dad are you okay?
Mitch: I�m fine. Have fun.
Dawson gives Mitch a questioning look before shrugging, and walking out of the kitchen. The front door opens and slams shut. Dawson rushes by Gale.
Dawson: See ya mom.
Dawson rushes out the door, and Gale stands there staring after him wondering what was going on with him.
Mitch: (from the kitchen) Gale is that you?
Gale turns away from the door, and walks into the kitchen.
Gale: What�s going on with our son?
Mitch shrugs and stands up. He walks towards Gale.
Mitch: Not that our son isn�t important, but Gale what happened at the doctors?
Gale steps out of Mitch�s arms and walks over to the fridge.
Gale: I�m completely healthy.
Gale opens the refrigerator and pulls out a bottled water.
Mitch: You couldn�t call and tell me that. I�ve been worried sick all day, and every time I called the restaurant they said you weren�t returning today.
Gale: I�m sorry you worried Mitch. I just needed time alone.
Mitch: (sensing she wasn�t telling him something) What is it Gale?
Gale: Like I said I am completely healthy.
Mitch: But???
Gale: (taking a deep breathe) I�m also pregnant.
Mitch: (shocked) What???
Gale: I�m going to have a baby. We are going to have a baby.
Ext. The Docks (Night of Day 2)
Andie and Daniel are walking along the docks.
Andie: I can�t believe I just did that. I can�t believe you talked me into doing that.
Daniel: All I did was suggest it, and you took it from there.
Andie: Now do you think I�m a Goodie Two Shoes still?
Daniel: (leaning over to whisper in her ear) Maybe that�s what I liked best about you.
Andie smiles shyly, and they continue a little ways in silence. Andie lifts her shirt slightly showing off her belly button, and her new piercing. She touches it lightly.
Andie: It still kind of stings though.
Daniel: (pulling her hand away) Don�t touch it. You�ll infect it.
Andie: It�s burning though.
Daniel: Let me.
Daniel stops walking and Andie stops beside him. He kneels in front of her, and places his hands on her hips. He blows a soft breathe of air onto her belly button. Andie giggles.
Daniel: What???
Andie: It tickles.
Daniel just smiles and blows another breathe of air onto her stomach. This time Andie doesn�t giggle. Instead she shivers. Daniel leans his head towards her, and places a kiss on her stomach, and then another, and another. He stands up, and without saying a word wraps his hand behind her neck, and pulls her into a kiss.
Ext. Outside of the B&B (Night of Day 2)
Pacey, and Joey pull up to the B&B in Pacey�s car. Pacey hops out, and opens the passenger door for Joey. He extends his hand and helps her out of the car. He keeps her hand in his as the walk to the porch. They climb the stairs in silence. They stand on the porch facing each other. Pacey lifts his free hand to caress her cheek. Joey turns her head into his hand.
Pacey: I hate saying goodbye to you at the end of the night.
Joey: I hate it too, but we have to.
Pacey: I know. It�s just hard to sleep at night without you a few feet from me.
Joey: I have that problem too, but there is no way Bessie will allow that.
Pacey: (nodding) I know.
They kiss. While they are kissing Bessie opens the door.
Bessie: (not really angry) Where have you been?
They pull apart.
Joey: Nowhere Bessie, we just spent the afternoon together.
Pacey: Sorry Bessie, but I just had to have some quality Joey time today. I�ve been miserable without her.
Bessie: Well you�re always welcome to come over here, and work beside her.
Joey groans.
Pacey: I think Dougie would object to me giving out my labor for free when I�m still indebted to him.
Joey: I�ll see you tomorrow Pacey.
Pacey: Night Bessie. (his tone softening) Goodnight Jo.
They stare into each other�s eyes. Bessie sighs, and closes the door.
Pacey: (laughing) Well if that�s all it takes to get rid of her.
Joey giggles.
Pacey: Come here Potter.
Joey steps into his outstretched arms, and he holds her tightly.
Pacey: Today was perfectly wonderful.
Joey: You�re not disappointed we didn�t... (her voice trails off)
Pacey stands back a little to look into Joey�s eyes.
Pacey: Of course I�m a little disappointed, but it doesn�t change how I feel, or how great today was.
Joey: For me too.
Pacey kisses her. They pull apart, and Pacey steps away from Joey.
Pacey: I better leave now before I can�t.
Joey: Goodnight Pacey. I love you.
Pacey: (grinning) Love you too Potter.
Pacey backs down the stairs still looking at Joey. When he reaches the bottom, he turns around and walks to his car. Joey watches him get in before walking into the B&B.
Ext. The Ruins (Night of Day 2)
Jen and Henry are laying on a blanket at the Ruins staring at the stars.
Henry: It�s so beautiful out here. How do you know about this place?
Jen: Dawson took me here once to film part of his movie.
Henry: (upset) Oh.
Jen: Henry?
Henry: What?
Jen: (rolling on her side to look at him) What�s wrong?
Henry: Nothing. (pausing) It�s just that even when we are alone your friends find a way to be here.
Jen: Henry that�s not true.
Henry: (rolling onto his side to face her) Yes it is. I mean this place isn�t somewhere special for us. The memories you have of here are of him.
Jen: Henry not all my memories are going to be of you. Just as I�m sure you have memories that aren�t of me, but just because I came here with Dawson and I have those memories doesn�t mean that I won�t have memories of you here.
Henry: But which memories will you remember for the rest of your life?
Jen: I was hoping they would be of you.
Henry: Hoping??
Jen: Yes, I was hoping tonight would be special. The type of special you remember forever.
Henry looks into Jen�s eyes. Jen raises her hand and caresses Henry�s cheek.
Jen: I love you Henry. You are the most amazing guy to ever come into my life, and this night I plan to remember forever.
Jen leans over and kisses Henry. She moves her body closer to his. She gently pushes Henry onto his back, and rolls on top of him as they continue to kiss.

ACT 4
Int. Doug�s Apartment (Night of Day 2)
Pacey walks up to Doug�s apartment. He puts the key in the door, and turns it. He pushes open the door, and walks in. The lights are off, but the room is lit by candles. Soft music is playing, and Pacey looks around. His eyes fall on Doug on the couch making out with a woman Pacey has never seen.
Pacey: Oh my God.
Doug jumps at hearing Pacey�s voice. He stands up, and the woman looks away embarrassed.
The woman�s name is Sarah. She is very petite with short blonde hair, and green eyes. She�s very cutesy.
Doug: Pacey what are you doing here?
Pacey: I live here.
Doug: Right, (pause) can I talk to you in here?
Doug motions towards the bedroom, and Pacey follows him into the room. Doug shuts the door.
Doug: Pacey... (he starts)
Pacey: Who�s the girl?
Doug: The woman in the other room is Sarah.
Pacey: Does she know you�re gay?
Doug: (in a warning tone) Pacey.
Pacey smiles at him innocently.
Doug: I need you to sleep elsewhere tonight.
Pacey�s smile drops instantly.
Pacey: (shocked) What?
Doug: Me and Sarah would like to be alone.
Pacey: Doug, I have nowhere to go.
Doug: Pacey can you please just spend one night on True Love.
Pacey: I rented True Love. She�s not here.
Doug: (surprised) Why�d you do that?
Pacey: Why do you think? For the money.
Doug: (sighing) Could you possibly spend one night at home.
Pacey: You want me to go home??
Doug: I know it�s the last place you want to go, but Pacey I�m asking you to please do it for me.
Pacey: For you?
Doug: I�m falling in love Pace.
Pacey: Love?
Doug: (with a big dorky grin) Yeah love.
Pacey: (smiling) I�d never thought I�d see the day that my closet case brother was falling in love with a girl.
Doug: Stop with the gay jokes.
Pacey: (with his head down) Yeah okay.
Pacey walks towards the door.
Pacey: See you later Dougie.
Doug: Pacey...
Pacey turns around.
Pacey: Yeah.
Doug: Thank you.
Pacey nods his head before walking out of the room.
Ext. The Ruins (Night of Day 2)
Jen, and Henry are lying in each other�s arms, wrapped in the blanket under the stars. Henry kisses the top of Jen�s head.
Henry: Was this the surprise?
Jen: What do you think?
Henry: That this is the best night of my life.
Jen: Mine to.
Jen turns her head and they share a deep kiss.
Henry: I honestly didn�t think this is how the night was going to turn out.
Jen: Maybe that�s because you were too busy being insecure.
Henry: I�m sorry.
Jen: Henry, I need you to believe that I love you.
Henry: I do.
Jen: And that I want to be with you.
Henry: I know.
Jen: And that all those worries you have about my friends are not true.
Henry: I know.
Jen: Do you?
Henry: Yes, I do.
Jen kisses Henry.
Jen: You make me so happy.
Henry: You make me happy too Jen Lindley. So happy I don�t know what I�d do without you.
Jen: I love you Henry Parker.
Henry: I love you too.
They kiss.
Ext. The Docks (Night of Day 2)
Continued from Andie and Daniel kissing in their previous scene. Daniel has one hand on her neck, and the other on her waist holding her body to his. Andie hands are pressed against his chest. The kiss is getting pretty intense, and Daniel moves his lips to her neck. Andie leans her head back as he continues to kiss her neck. The hand he has on her waist makes its way under her shirt, and up her back. Andie opens her eyes.
Andie: Wait.
Daniel stops and steps away.
Daniel: What�s wrong?
Andie: I can�t do this.
Daniel: I�m sorry.
Andie: No, don�t be. It�s just moving a little too fast for me.
Daniel reaches up and caresses her face.
Daniel: Okay.
Andie: Please don�t be mad. I like you, but...
Daniel: (cutting her of) You don�t have to explain, Andie. I got a little carried away.
Andie: (lowering her head) It was nice.
Daniel smiles, and puts his arm around Andie.
Daniel: I�ll walk you home.
Andie smiles up at him, and they walk away.
Int. Dawson�s House (Night of Day 2)
Mitch and Gale are sitting at the kitchen table. Mitch is still in shock, and Gale is worried.
Gale: Mitch are you okay?
Mitch: I�m fine. I just don�t know what to say. This is such a shock. I mean we decided not to have any children after Dawson.
Gale: I didn�t want to get pregnant, Mitch. It wasn�t planned.
Mitch reaches across the table, and grasps her hand.
Mitch: I know. I didn�t mean that. I just meant this is...(searching for a word) well a shock.
Gale: I know how you feel. It took all afternoon for me to get used to the idea, but now Mitch (Gale smiles) I�m so excited. I want to have this baby.
Mitch: I do too. It�s going to change everything though.
Gale: I know.
Mitch: And Dawson. What�s Dawson going to say?
Gale: I�m sure Dawson will be fine.
Mitch: (smiling) You�re going to have a baby. Our baby.
Gale: (smiling back) I am.
Mitch stands up, and hauls Gale to her feet. He kisses her, and holds her tightly to him.
Mitch: I love you Gale.
Gale: I love you too Mitch.
Ext. Outside of the Witter House (Night of Day 2)
Pacey is standing across the street from his house. Following his gaze into the open window we see his father standing and yelling. Pacey shakes his head, and walks away.
Ext. A Street in Capeside (Night of Day 2)
Dawson is walking down the street. He�s deep in thought.
Ext. Docks (Night of Day 2)
Pacey is standing by the dock where True Love usually is. He�s staring off into the blackness of the sea. The look on his face is one of sadness, and of being lost. Finally he turns away, and walks away from the docks.
Ext. A Street in Capeside
Dawson is still walking around aimlessly deep in thought. He hears footsteps approaching him. He looks up and groans. Following his gaze we see Pacey stop in his tracks.
Dawson: Well isn�t this the perfect end to a perfect day.
Pacey: Dawson.
Dawson: Shouldn�t you be over at Joey�s, or did you get what you wanted and now she�s of no use to you.
Pacey: (angry but trying to control his temper) I don�t know what you�re talking about.
Dawson: I know Pacey.
Pacey: You know what?
Dawson: That you�re sleeping with her.
Pacey: (extremely angry, but still in control) That�s none of your business, and it would be best if you just drop it right now.
Dawson: Joey�s life is my business, especially when she�s going to get hurt.
Pacey: You have no idea what you�re talking about, and if anyone is hurting Joey it's you.
Dawson: I�m hurting Joey?? I�ve done nothing but be her friend and yours, and you guys betrayed me.
Pacey: Listen to yourself Dawson. It�s always about you. Does it even matter to you that I make her happy?
Dawson: You think having sex with her in a car is making her happy?
Pacey: (shocked) Were you spying on us?
Dawson: I just happened to be walking by. Trust me I did not want to see that.
Pacey: You don�t know what you�re talking about.
Dawson: Save it Pacey. I saw you.
Pacey: You didn�t see anything.
Dawson: Just admit it Pacey.
Pacey: Admit what?
Dawson: That you slept with Joey.
Pacey: That�s none of your business.
Dawson: What are you afraid of? That I�m right? That all you are about is sex?
Pacey: Dawson...
Dawson: Just admit it.
Pacey: (shouting) We didn�t have sex.
Dawson reels backwards in shock.
Pacey: Me and Joey have not had sex. Does that make you happy?
Dawson stares at Pacey.
Dawson: Yeah actually it does.
Dawson walks away, and Pacey stands there. When Dawson rounds the corner Pacey punches the brick wall as hard as he can. He shouts in pain as he pulls his hand away. His fist is all bloody. He leans his head against the wall, and tears start to slide down his face.
Int. McPhee�s house (Night of Day 2)
Jack is sitting at the kitchen table typing at his laptop. The kitchen door opens and Andie walks in.
Jack: Hey you, where have you been?
Andie: Out, what are you doing?
Jack: Looking up some colleges.
Andie: Sounds like a fun night.
Jack: Charles just left.
Andie: (with a smile) How was your evening alone with him?
Jack sighs and looks up. He stares at Andie curiously and gets a teasing smile on his face.
Jack: Obviously not as good as yours.
Andie: (confused) What??
Jack: (with a smirk) Nice hickey.
Andie: (eyes widening she clamps her hand on her neck) Oh God.
Jack: Who�d you spend the night with?
Andie: Don�t change the subject.
Jack: I�m not but I�m sure your story is more interesting then mine.
Andie: Someone you don�t know. What happened with Charles?
Jack: (turning serious) It was okay. I mean I told him I wasn�t ready to have sex, and he said he understood.
Andie: (sitting down next to him) Oh Jack.
Jack: Really it�s okay.
Andie: And he�s okay with it?
Jack: Yeah totally.
Andie: Good. I know you really like him Jack.
Jack: I do, but I�m not ready for that.
Andie: It�s okay. Sex isn�t something to rush into.
Jack: I hope you took your own advice.
Andie: (appalled) Jack, I did not have sex.
Jack: Just a little face sucking action?
Andie: (slapping him) Stop it.
Jack just grins.
Ext. Potter B&B (Night of Day 2)
Pacey is standing outside of the B&B. It�s after midnight. He walks around the B&B to Joey�s window. He taps on the glass lightly. A few moments later the curtain is pushed back and Joey�s face comes into the window. She looks at Pacey curiously, and then concern washes over her face. She opens the window.
Joey: Pacey what�s wrong?
Pacey: Can I come in to talk?
Joey: Pacey, Bessie will be pissed, and she really will kill me this time.
Pacey: I know Jo, but I really need to talk to you.
Joey can tell he�s serious, and that he�s been crying.
Joey: Okay, I�ll come out. Meet me on the porch.
Pacey: Okay.
Joey disappears, and Pacey walks around the B&B to the porch. He sits on the porch step, and after a moment Joey walks out in a robe, and socks. Pacey stands up, and Joey pulls him into a hug.
Joey: Pacey what�s wrong?
Pacey: I�ve had the worst night.
Joey notices his hand.
Joey: God Pacey, what happened?
She cradles his hand gently in hers as she looks at his bleeding fist.
Joey: You should get this cleaned up.
Pacey: Later.
Pacey sits on the porch step, and Joey sits next to him their shoulders touching.
Joey: What happened?
Pacey: Well it started when I returned to Dougie�s and found him making out with a girl.
Joey: Doug has a girlfriend?
Pacey: Apparently, so I was asked to leave.
Joey: Pacey I�m so sorry.
Joey puts her arm around him, and Pacey rests his head on her shoulder.
Pacey: I�m not mad at Doug. He seems so happy, but with True Love gone I have nowhere to stay. He said to stay at home, but I can�t go back there. I mean my Dad hasn�t even called me since I got back, and the only contact I had from him was an email while we were sailing.
Joey: You never told me.
Pacey: I didn�t want to talk about it. I didn�t want to think about my Dad on the trip.
Joey: What did it say?
Pacey: Basically, I screwed up yet again by leaving with my girlfriend.
Joey: Why would he care?
Pacey: Because he has so much faith in me, he figured I�d screw up your life, get you pregnant, and basically ruin your life.
Joey: Pacey, you didn�t ruin my life.
Pacey: I know Jo. I know it�s not true, but the fact that my father thinks that hurts. I don�t know why I let the man get to me still.
Joey: He�s your father.
Pacey: The only one I got. And to top this night off I had yet another screaming episode with Dawson that almost ended with fist a cuffs.
Joey: What??
Pacey: It seems our good friend Dawson thinks we are having sex, and that�s not okay with him, because of course I�m using you for sex, because that�s all Pacey Witter is. He�s a big dumb horny loser who�ll do anything for sex.
Joey: Pacey, it�s not true.
Pacey: I know it�s not true, and I know you know it�s not true, but people who should know it�s not true like my Dad, and Dawson, don�t. They believe these things about me. That I�m a loser, and only after sex. And while it shouldn�t bother me it does Jo. (choking up) It really does.
Joey pulls Pacey in a tight hug, and gently rocks him as he fights not to cry.
Joey: You can stay here tonight.
Pacey: I thought all the rooms were taken.
Joey: They are, but my floors not.
Pacey pulls away from her embrace, and caresses her face.
Pacey: Jo, I don�t want to get you in trouble.
Joey: I�ll worry about Bessie.
Pacey: Jo...
Joey: No arguing. I�m not going to let you sleep at your house, or on the streets.
Joey stands up, and grabs Pacey�s not bleeding hand. He smiles at her with thanks.
Joey: We�ll get this cleaned up, but be quiet. I don�t need to wake everyone up.
Pacey: Okay.
They walk into the B&B and to Joey�s room.
Joey: (whispering) I�ll be right back.
Pacey nods, and Joey leaves the room. Pacey sits on the bed. He looks around the room while she is gone. Joey returns with a washcloth and a bandage. She sits next to him, and gently takes his hand. She starts to wipe the blood off. They talk in whispers.
Joey: Does it hurt?
Pacey: Not so much anymore.
They fall into silence as Joey starts to bandage Pacey�s hand.
Joey: Everything is going to be okay Pacey.
Pacey: (looking up into her eyes) I hope you�re right.
Joey gives him a little smile before standing up. She grabs an extra blanket off her bed, and spreads it on the floor. She tosses down a pillow.Pacey stands up as well. He reaches out to grasp her shoulder.
Pacey: Thank you for everything.
Joey: What are girlfriends for?
Pacey leans down, and kisses her. Joey wraps her arms around Pacey�s neck, and they continue kissing. The passion starts to heat up quickly, and Joey starts to walk forward leading Pacey towards the bed. The backs of Pacey�s legs hit the bed, and he falls onto the bed. Joey follows him down.
Pacey: Jo.
Joey: Just shut up, and kiss me.
Pacey does as he�s told.
