| The Monkees 2001 Tour We live in California, but The Monkees weren't coming there, so we were forced to fly out to Vegas to see them. We ended up going to four shows, and getting backstage(!!!!!!). It was a really cool experience, but frankly, I ended up a bit upset with the guys for their bad attitude towards Fan Relations. Anyway, great job guys, but remember, we're the reason you make a living. Give us some credit. I'm not putting up step-by-step relations of the show because frankly, I don't remember it well enough :) They were really cool, jumping around the stage, chasing each other, telling jokes and stories. I've further re-inforced my belief that Davy likes to hear himself talk, and the shows we were there, so were his daughters (minus Annabell) and his ex-wife Linda. He said a special hello to them and we met them later on. Peter's an absolute hottie, and when we met him after the show he was wearing the exact clothes he was the last time I met him. His red/blue shirt, old jacket, plastic shoes and pink socks were hilarious! and I have yet to figure out what Micky was wearing. Some strange buttoned shirt..... Everytime Davy and Peter took off their jackets we screamed 'Take it off!' and well, we basically screamed a lot. Here's the harrowing tale...... Picture this, a girl has been locked in her house for four days, feeding on cough suruyp and Sprite, she's worked herself into such a frenzy she's actually jumping back and forth between two couches in the living room. That was me on the day of our first Monkees concert. Around 4 pm we went to the airport and flew to Vegas, blah, blah, blah, bounced off hotel room walls (We stayed in the MGM Grand, where The Monkees were performing) and at 8 pm traveled down to the theater in a flury of insanity. * First Show * 8 pm Friday We bought the tour photo and the Plushie Monkees and bugged the ticket person until we were traded from 10th row to the 3rd row. The seats were to the left of the stage, over by Peter, and we were energetic, but shy. We screamed a bit, but really kept it inside a lot. Peter looked at us and that was about it. We then stood outside the doors and oogled at member of Natural from a distance while we waited for the next show to start. * Second Show * 10:30 pm Friday Discovering that the bugging thing worked, we once again moved from 10th row to 2nd this time, center! Now we were a bit happier, and looser (Coke can do that to you) and were ready to scream. The annoying thing: Peter kept flirting with the girl right in front of me, and in the end, he whispered to her and she got backstage! We had a great time the second show. Davy said it was take home a band member night and I called dibs on Peter. Everyone laughed. Check out the quote page for the in-depth quotes of that whole conversation. The guy next to us chatted with Davy for like a minute in the middle of the show about Santa Monica. Right in the middle of the show, Davy used the mike to talk and everything. It was pretty funny. Peter humped his guitar for me during Stepping Stone! He came right in front of me (not that girl he was flirting with, thank god! It was getting tiring watching those two), stuck out his tounge, and humped the guitar! It was so cool! I screamed sooo loud! Then during the acoustic set I yelled 'Dig the boots Pete!' and Davy said that the shoes were painted on. Umm, nothing else much happened. We waited until 3 AM after the show, but no one came out. It was kinda depressing. We met the guys in Natural and the Brass Dancers (We've named them that. They said they like it. Eric likes my hair! Eric likes my hair! BTW so do Ben and Mike from Natural) Then, we got the message that the guys were gone : ( We got about 3 hours of sleep that night. We ordered a midnight snack and were impressed by the flower the waiter guy brought. We said we wished we had three, so the guy came back with 3 roses and two more carnations. He was so sweet. Read on for their story : ) * Petapalooza * 12 pm Saturday Well, Saturday morning this radio station thing was going on in this park, anyway, The Monkees were supposed to be there, but Peter's so sick he didn't get out of bed until 6 pm. Micky and Davy were there, but we showed up late and missed them by about a half and hour. Natural was there though, and we talked to them again. It was then that Kim asked Ben to sign her stomach. This becomes a very important part of the trip, and I've decided to dedicate a whole page to it. Watch for it coming. Then, well, we went back to the hotel, drifted around the pool for a few hours ( it had one of those river things where you go around and around) and went to the arcade ( I won three little wind-up Monkies) and by then it was time to get ready..... * Third Concert * 8 pm Saturday We found J from Natural outside, and we got him to take the three carnations back to Mike, Ben and Eric (He's a brass dancer. He thinks were freaky, and he likes freaky things. That's how our whole relationship started.) We only moved our seats up to the 6th row, but that's because the lady said we could have table 8A for the last show, which was front row, right in front of Peter! The show was okay.... We didn't talk, and saved our screaming for the next show. We were so far back they couldn't really see us anyway. Not much to say...... The last show was so special, it gets it's own page! Check it out! |
