Thank you for visiting my farm and agriculture website

Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated, and will be invaluable as we continue to develop and enhance the farm and agriculture site. Individuals who would help to support organic farming and organic production options so that the farmland becomes organic developed, are very welcome. You may be interested in learning more about organic certification and organic production options. My resources offer guidance in preparing for certification, and in production methods for a range of organic crops and livestock

I would like to thank the many people who have helped build the website, and I would especially like to thank my wife Margaret for sharing her knowledge about computers. She encourage me to spend some time on the internet and tell the world about my Canadian farm on this website.

With your help and support, I will continue to develop this non-commercial website and provide you with information on farming crops, livestock, organic farming, wildlife and plants, working in farming , and insider information about my career on the farm. But I would like you to do something for me in return - I would request that you help me to help others. You can visit the Patronage section of this site to find out more about the charities that are very important to me: organic farming, wildlife, farm-to-farm crop harvesting and Canada. Please help if you can.

I was raised on Churchill a small town at the Hudson Bay, in beautiful Canada. Churchill is close to Wapusk National Park what is heavily forested, and one of my hobbies there was small-game hunting. My graduate education took me to Edmonton, which is on the Canadian Prairies but near the Rocky Mountains. There I played recreational (ice) hockey and drink a lot of beer with my buddies, and in the winter enjoyed downhill skiing in the Rockies, which have some of the world's best runs.

After I earned my Ph.D. my wife and I spent the autumn of 2001 backpacking in Germany, Poland, Bulgaria and Montenegro. We were most interested in seeing antic farm equipment and historic tractors and eating well, and the Mediterranean was a great place to do this. I really enjoy travelling abroad, and this has since been a great benefit of a life of research. I also enjoy a good game of strip poker. My wife and I are appreciating the southern-Californian climate at the moment. We're also enjoying our first child, Joop, a son born in March 2006.

Thank you for visiting my farm and agriculture website and I hope to see you back soon.
