a website all about me with errors on all the pages. (if anyone knows how to build pages with geocities that don't contain errors please let me know!) mostly you'll find photos but also links to my fav online places- one of the trappings of a personal homepage, but probably a worthwhile one. after visiting some of them you might disagree.
so far i've resisted the temptation to include a guestbook for you all to leave obscene comments in, but i may yet succumb...
i apologise for any "in jokes" which might occur. you can assume that anything which doesn't make sense to you is actually hilariously funny, and so you'll know to laugh uncontrollably. if nothing else they will keep me amused.
if the mood ever takes me i might add a journal-type section, but in all likelihood i'll just keep a blog/updates section going on the homepage.
where?
this is a highly subjective question. where is what? and what is its position in time and space relative to? but rather than continue that tedious line of thought and risk going cross-eyed, i'll give the simple answer: i'm in belfast now (july 2003) and will be in cleveland ohio from august til may (-ish). hopefully i'll get to travel about usa and canada a bit so photos will feature.
why?
this is perhaps the most pertinent of the W4 questions. what purpose could a personal homepage like this possibly serve, apart from boosting my already enormous ego? surely anyone who is likely to visit the site will already know me and hence not learn anything from their visit. as well as this, it will almost certainly lose its novelty value and after a while be left to rot in an un-updated state for the rest of eternity. ok i've convinced myself, forget the whole idea.... just kidding!
i was first prompted to think about building a website as a way of sharing photos from my year in the usa (see the delicatessen). the plan was to keep it simple, seeing as i didn't have a clue how to build a website. however, i have found that once you start working on a website it becomes very addictive (and time-consuming) and all other priorities go out the window.
nonetheless, i'll resist the temptation to bore you with things like my pet's name, favourite football team or the names of my primary school teachers.
