- As per forum feedbacks I installed Ghostrider and Viper's R23 Renault. In my opinion, I still prefer the Schroeder & Nicola Acciarri / Bojan Tarticchio version. As a result we will continue to use their R23 Renault in our carset.
- Wai Keen Lam has completed work on the all new MP4/18 McLaren Mercedes. Bojan Tarticchio is working on the livery and has indicated that it will be ready in about six weeks time. Bojan has indicated however that it will not be published prior to the release of the real McLaren challenger. (Check out the new screenshots here)
- Wai Keen Lam is also working on a C222 Sauber Petronas. Bojan Tarticchio is working on the livery and has indicated it is still a couple of weeks away. (Check out the new screenshots here)
- Still no progress on the safety / mediccal car. A lot of the second-rate designers have been having problems with them conflicting against the F1-design cars. I think it is only a matter of time, but personally I think it would be a good acquisition into the game despite them not having the features of their real-life counterparts.
- I went on to Emac's forum and posted a message "Will there be a 2003 season car-set for GP4". There is hope yet, after they (Emac / Ralph) complete their 2003 F1-2002 commitments they plan to start on GP4. But the question is are they to late, or are they really needed. Let's wait and see.
- The real-life French GP marked the firsst race of the season that includes Non-Tobacco liveries. I have seen on a couple of forums that their are already "unofficial" livery updates, but to be honest I don't no if they will make our way into our car-set package. I would like to think so, but it really depends if the authors are going to release official Non-Tobacco textures. Watch this space.

- Performance file for Spanish GP completed (By JLW).
- Corrected Pit Garage signage for Minarddi and Toyota teams.
- The problem with the computer cars fuell levels is still a worry. I have run a couple of different race scenarios for the upcoming Spanish GP and some of the cars are very marginal if they will make the end of the race. Although I have not pinpointed the problem, I believe it has something to do with the actual performance file and the actual track data (which is stored in GP4.exe). There is a program called Magic Data from Marc Aarts which could help, but the program is very difficult to understand and I have been unsuccessful to date. I am going to have to post a problem to SDI for this analysis, at the moment I am at a loss but I feel a remedy is not to far away. Worst case scenario, I might have to reduce the total number of laps down from 65 to 64, but this option is the last possible resort.

- Do I need to say it, Ricardo Lampert has already released his 2003 French GP Track update. This time it was released prior to the race, you can't get much quicker than that. Amazing detail as usual, outstanding effort.

- Great news, another editor has been released - this time a Sound Editor by Laurent Rousseau (Lo2K). This editor will allow all game sounds to be changed (including all engine sounds, all internal and external sounds etc). I haven't had a good play with it yet, but it won't take long for the game to have brand new sounds possibly even from EA's latest effort which a lot of people have been praising the engine and downshift sounds. A good break though.

- While the fuel drama continues to cause some issues, I have done some home-work on the GP4 Pit & Lap Editor by Alessandro Carrera. Now, I don't no if this is going to fix up the fuel problem or not but this editor is a little gem. Because GP4 was based off the 2001 season, the real-life race strategies (2003 season) are way different. This editor will correct the strategies and follow the real 2003 pit stops, it means I will have to do more work on my performance file however as I will now need to see what laps the teams pit on. Very realistic and appears to work very well. I hope to introduce this in time for the Spanish GP. As a matter of interest, I tested the computer cars strategies and all teams pretty much opted for two-stops (prior to the editor), in real life they pitted three times. Another nice little addition to what is becoming a very editable game.

- Just an update on the Track Editor. Unfortunately no real progress has been made, but surely it is just a matter of time. There are still a few people on the scene whom are tinkering, but I feel Laurent Rousseau (Lo2K), and Madman (GP4 Tweaker) have the best chance to crack it. We still have time on our sides for the new circuits that will be introduced in 2004. I emailed Paul Hoad the author of the GP1, GP2, GP3 and GP32000 track editors but his email is no longer active. Not a good sign.

- The problem with GPx Patch version 3.40 appears to be a one off. I have investigated thoroughly and have not had a repeat performance since which is surprising. I informed SDI and he informed me that no changes have been made from version 3.37a to 3.40. Something to keep an eye on, it must have been a freak PC issue that has now rectified itself.
