.:Gundam Wing Endlesswalts Story:.
Endless Waltz is both the sequel and the prequel for Gundam Wing. It is set after the events of AC 195, when Earth has finally achieved peace, thanks to the five Gundam pilots. In a time of peace, the Gundams were no longer needed and Quatre proposed the idea of the destruction of the Gundams. All the pilots agrees, except for Wufei, who has disappeared after the war against WHITE FANG. When the Gundams were collected and sent to a one-way trip to the sun, a crisis breaks out. Relena is kidnaped while a powerful military group known as the "Barton Foundation" begins to takeover various space colonies.
Without the Gundams, the main characters face an extremely difficult situation. There are frequent flash-back scenes throughout Endless Waltz, each giving viewers a better understanding of the origin and history behind the characters. There is also more background information on the Gundam pilots, as well as their training and how and why they were selected.
Endless Waltz was originally divided into 3 episodes:
Episode 1: The Silent Orbit Episode
2: Operation Meteor Episode
3: Return to Forever
These three were later combined into a single movie in 1998, titled "Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Special Edition".
One of the most noticeable changes in Endless Waltz are the new looks of the Gundams. Each Gundam has been given a complete make-over, with more fancy accessories and outrageous/daring designs, plus new color schemes. The mecha design has gone from technological realism to aesthetic beauty. One of the more memorable designs are the angel wings of the Wing ZERO.
Episode 1: "Silent Orbit"
A year has passed since the termination of the war, and people are getting used to the long-awaited peace. The Gundam pilots, with the exception of Wufei (whose whereabouts are unknown), have began their new lives: apparently, Heero is attending school, Duo is again working with the Sweeper Group. Trowa has gone back to the circus, and Quatre has taken his father's place as head of the Winner family. Noin and Sally Po are part of the Preventers, a government-funded peace-keeping organization, with Lady Une as its leader.
As the story begins, Quatre proposes the disposal of the Gundams, considering them unnecessary in a time of peace. Subsequently, Gundam Sandrock, Gundam Heavyarms, Gundam Deathscythe Hell, and Wing Gundam Zero are loaded onto a discarded satellite, then sent off to the sun to be destroyed completely. Quatre was unable to contact Wufei, so at this point, he becomes the only pilot still possessing his Mobile Suit, or so as it seems.
It is Christmas Eve, A.C. 196. Relena Darlian, working as a diplomat, is kidnaped while visiting the colony X 18999 in L3. The leader of the colony is Mariemaia Barton, an offensively arrogant seven-year old girl who claims to be the biological daughter of the deceased Treize Khushrenada. She announces to Relena her intension to take over both the Earth and the space colonies in a coup d'etat, as her father's rightful heir.
Meanwhile, Trowa, sensing a threat to the peace, sneaks into Mariemaia's army in order to assassinate Dekim, one of the leaders of the plot. However, he finds himself facing Wufei, who points his sword at Trowa, his old comrade.
As Quatre and his faithful Maganacs set out towards the sun to retrieve the four Gundams, Heero and Duo also become aware of the danger. While on their way to X 18999, Heero dreams of his past, of the days in which he still had normal human feelings. At the same time, a mysterious man, whom anyone recognizes as the man who disappeared in the Libra explosion, offers his help to Lady Une, giving himself the code name "Wind." Mariemaia declares war, and sends out numerous Mobile Suits to defend her colony. Heero and Duo successfully enter X 18999 with the aid of Noin, code name "Fire", and Sally, "Water". There, they are confronted by Wufei's Altron Gundam, and Trowa's new Mobile Suit, Serpent. As they fight, the crazy Chinese hurls to Heero the question, "Have you made the right decision?"
Episode 2: "Operation Meteor"
Heero, fighting Wufei near the entrance of X 18999, urges him to self-destruct. Duo, whose Leo is no match for Trowa's Serpent, anticipates death, at the same time remembering the days immediately before the start of Operation Meteor. Not wishing to participate in a mass-murder, he had attempted to destroy Deathscythe and kill the Professor. However, Trowa, pretending to be siding with Mariemaia, cleverly lets Heero and Duo escape deeper into the colony. He also remembers his days as an emotionless weapon, when he did not even have a name. The scientist who created Gundam Heavyarms had been working for the Barton family in L3, whose goal was to take control of the Earth through an attack by the Gundam. Dekim, a member of WHITE FANG, was the father of the real Trowa Barton and Leia Barton, Mariemaia's deceased mother. The young boy had witnessed the murder of the real Trowa by a member of the project team who opposed the massacre plan, and had at the same time taken the man's name, becoming the pilot of Gundam Heavyarms.
Meanwhile, Quatre figures out a faster but riskier way to catch up to the Gundams. Amid the opposition of his followers, he decides to go alone onto the satellite. As manless Mobile Dolls are sent towards the Earth, Noin and Sally realize that the main part of the rebel forces is stationed somewhere else. Seeing Mariemaia making a hasty escape from X 18999, Heero and Duo become aware of her true intension, which is to carry out the original plan of Operation Meteor.
As Dekim starts sending out Serpents from the colony MO-III, "Wind" in his Tallgeese III attacks. However, the old man threatens to crash the colony X 18999 into the Earth. The original plan of Operation Meteor, created by Dekim, was a combination of an attack by the Gundams and a direct assault on the Earth using an entire colony. This, of course, reminds us of Miliardo's plan to crash Libra into the planet. As Miliardo watches, unable to move, numerous Serpents are sent out, accompanied by Wufei. Mariemaia tells Relena to use her influence to persuade the masses to surrender, as the only way to prevent a massacre on Earth.
Heero and Duo fight their way into the control room of X 18999, where they find Trowa busy working with the computers. They join him in trying to stop the movement of the colony towards the Earth. However, they are too late. When Miliardo hears that control over the colony has been regained, he immediately destroys MO-III, but Dekim escapes. Just then, a message arrives from Quatre that the Gundams are on their way back. He had redirected the course of the satellite letting a part of its engine explode. Heero goes off alone to meet his Gundam in space, sacrificing Duo for his escape. Trowa is left in X 18999 carrying Duo's unconscious body.
