| I was born in 1942 ( this still makes me 21, have been for years) and am married to Rob. We have 3 married children 1 son and 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren who are a great joy to us. We live about 350 km west of Brisbane in a rural community of approx. 5000 people. I am the only member of our Garbetts who has gone West. The others are all living on the South Coast of Queensland. My Garbett connection is from my Mother who was a Garbett. I am involved in the local craft group and was a Potter for many years with my own workshop at home. When I stopped potting we started growing Eucalypts and Riceflower for the fresh flower market both Domestic and Export. This venture is meant to stop us from being bored in retirement! I also sew and make Patchwork quilts but this seems to be fading into the background for the moment now that I am so involved in searching for our ancestors, something I have wanted to do for years, I love the history of it all. It is such a huge jigsaw, I cann't wait to see how far Peter can go with linking us all together. What a Challenge. |
