faqs
Do we really need faqs?
Yes, yes we do.
How and when did OIJ start?
The OIJ squad was built from members of kitchen 3 in Cryfield 3 at Warwick Uni when we all realised
that several of us had a common interest in football and the playing thereof.
OIJ came into being in the month of October in the calendar year of 2003.
Where did OIJ get their name from?
Rich Stone found it in a book that I own called "Why do people hate America?" (by Ziauddin Sardar and Merryl Wyn Davies).
It was the original code name given by the US to the bombing war in Afghanistan in 2002.
So does the team name symbolise an underlying admiration for US foreign policy?
Errm ... I think you're reading too much into a name. We just thought it was interesting and different.
Did you ever consider entering an 11-a-side team into the Warwick leagues?
Don't ask - that's a rather sensitive issue at the moment! :(
Have OIJ ever won anything?
Well, the short answer to that is "no". The long answer (and a slightly more optomistic one) is "not yet". We've never won a league or a cup or a
tournament of any kind. There's a rumour circulating that we once won a match though. I can confirm that this is true -
it was a friendly game against a 6-year old boy and 2 hamsters (we had 5 players). We won on penalties.
I have a burning question but it's not in the faqs. Why isn't it there? How can I get it answered?
Firstly, that's two questions, which as some people might say, is two more than my brain can cope with. In future please
just ask one question at a time. For now though, as I'm feeling kind (it's autumn), I'll answer BOTH of your questions. Lucky you.
Well, if your questions isn't in the faqs, it's probably for one of 2 reasons:
1) The question has not been asked
2) The question has not been asked "frequently" (which admitedly in the case of this list of faqs can be defined as "more than zero times")
What can you do about this? Well, you can email your question to gledders1984[at]hotmail.com and there's a good chance it'll be answered. Unless you
ask about the game against the two hamsters.
Do any of the answers in the faqs feature ficticious information for comic effect?
There are 3 answers to that question:
1) Yes
2) No
C) Maybe
If you answer a question with another question does the answer become an faq?
I don't know.
If you don't know an answer to a question what will you do?
Either sit in the corner and cry about it or go away and do a phd in a related topic in a bid to unearth the answer to your question. Probably the former.
Did you waste your time on these faqs?
Waste is a very strong word.
Is that all the faqs?
For now, yes.
