Ideas for RS Anniversary Activity
Camy Eisentrager
Subject: RE: RS: RS anniversary social-our ideas
Dear Pat, Last year for our birthday social we used
the theme “Sisterhood: A celebration of you!” We sent invitations by
snail mail to every sister that we couldn't give an invitation to on
Sunday. We used balloons as our table decorations, and balloons
were on the front of our invite. We did a simple meal ( make
your own hoagie sandwich with chips and salads).
We also had a simple program ( we asked 7 sisters to share of an experience
where sisters in the gospel have helped them.) We spelled out the word
Sisters.
The first sister had the letter S. We asked her to tell of an
experience where Sacrifice was part of her experience.
Letter I was Importance
Letter S was Service
Letter T was Time
Letter E was Enthusiastic
Letter R was Reverence
Letter S was Savior.
It was a wonderful evening. Our highest attendance was that evening.
It allowed the sisters to associate and grow with one another and it allowed
all of the sisters to grow spiritually by the stories that were shared!
Many tears were shed and many bonds of friendship were strengthened.
Our opening song was “As sisters in Zion”. Closing song was “Happy
Birthday”. Before our meal and program our RS Pres. gave a short presentation
about Emma Smith and how RS came to be!
Good Luck, Camy

This year we are using the Cultural Arts topic...We are going with the theme
‘IN HARMONY”. We will be focusing on how we can work in harmony as
a RS unit!
All the sisters present will learn how to lead music. We will have
a presentation on why GOOD music is so important in our homes and how
it can uplift us spiritually! We will be decorating with music notes
and the invitations will also feature music stuff.
For our meal we will be serving Piano sandwiches...The sandwiches will
look like a keyboard(white bread will be the white keys on the piano,
wheat bread will be the black keys on the piano)...we will have one
half of the piano be turkey/ the other ham...then they can add all
the other good stuff along with relish trays, chips, etc.!!! Our cake will
also feature music notes!
For the table centerpieces we will be using sheet music with an instrument
(from members of the ward) placed on the sheet music. We will
also have table favors ( each table setting will get a kazoo). We are
also going to have a special musical number by some of the sisters
in the ward.
Good luck! Camy
