A couple of ideas on presidency visits:
We have one ward in our Stake that sets aside one night per week for Presidency Visits. They are able to conduct RS business on the way in the car as well, so the time is used well. They try to visit 2 or 3 sisters per week. For most wards, that would get you through the list in a year's time. Another idea might be to designate one week/weekend out of the month as visiting time, and do 10 or 12 visits during that time. A third idea is to go along with a sister's visiting teachers when they make their monthly visit, so that they can introduce you to a less-active sister and pave the way for a good visit. I know that the wards who have been successful in their visits have found that they feel much closer to their sisters as a result. They know where they live, can picture them in their homes, and some have said it is easier for them as a presidency to set goals with a better understanding of what each sister's family and living conditions are like.

A ward my daughter lived in had Presidency visiting night one Sunday
a month for several months. They did this instead of Ward Council.
Each Presidency was to prayerfully select families to visit each month.
They were to be done and meet at the bishop's home at a certain time after
and discussed their visits. Seemed to work well for meeting the needs
of the members rather than spend the whole meeting calendaring and talking
about nothing. I think it's worth trying especially with a large
ward. Ours is so small that nearly every family has someone in leadership
so I'm not sure it would work here. Jane F.
