I thought I would share the 6 Relief Society Objectives formulated by our new Relief Society General Presidency.  Homemaking meetings should  be planned with these objectives in mind, as should all RS activities.

Relief Society Objectives

 Build faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and teach the doctrines of the kingdom.  Help each sister learn the doctrines of the gospel, strengthen her personal testimony of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and increase her resolve to come unto Him
2 Nephi 31:20-21   Omni 1:26

Bless the individual sister and emphasize her divine worth.  Teach each sister that she is a beloved spirit daughter of a Heavenly Father with a divine nature, destiny, and worth, and that her ultimate potential includes eternal life.
D&C 25:2-3   D&C 25:15-16

Exercise charity and nurture those in need.  In keeping with Relief Society’s motto, "Charity Never Faileth". Encourage each sister to develop and exercise the pure love of Christ in all aspects of her life.  Encourage each sister to help those in her family, her congregation, and her community.
Moroni 7:46-48    Mosiah 4:26

Strengthen and protect families, and honor our heritage.  Teach that the family is ordained of God, and that the family is the preeminent organizational unit of the Church.  Help each sister understand that happiness in marriage and family life will most likely be achieved when founded upon the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Encourage provident living, wise home management, and participation in family history work.

Serve, support, and build every sister.  Help every sister, regardless of her personal circumstances, feel needed, included, valued, and loved. Sisters in Relief Society provide support to each other as they share their faith, experience, friendship, and demonstrate love.

Become full participants in the blessings of the priesthood.  Sustain, support, and work in harmony with those who hold the priesthood, receive the ordinances of the gospel, and enter into the covenants of the temple.
