Sisters,
I was inspired by Elder Packer's conference address on the Relief Society.
I particularly enjoyed his comments about how we ALL belong to Relief Society just as the Priesthood holders belong to a quorom of the Priesthood, no matter where they serve. RS is not just a class we attend!
When I give my lesson on Sunday, I am giving each sister in the ward (whether she attends the "class" or not) a membership card. It will say:
The Relief Society
of
The Church of
JESUS CHRIST
Of Latter-Day Saints
(Sticker of Relief Society Seal)
MEMBER
On the back it will say something like, "The bearer of this card is a member in good standing of the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, an organization established and named by prophets and apostles who acted under divine inspiration."
I will add more to the back, but I haven't come up with it yet. Any ideas?
I was so excited (inspired?) to make these cards (which will be about 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches and lamanated) that I decided to work my instruction around this principle of membership. If any of you have some good ideas to round out my lesson, I would really appreciated it.
I have found so many great principles in President Packer's talk I am having trouble narrowing it down to 15 - 20 minutes.
Thanks,
Allison
