Dear Laura,
As a stake RS presidency, we just visited a ward in our stake that had a wonderful temple night for a homemaking meeting. They had different people in their ward speak that represented different situations such as a young woman that did not have her endowments yet but who went to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, a newly married couple, a couple who had been sealed after being married for several years, etc., etc. These were interspersed with some narration and some lovely musical numbers. This was all in the chapel. Then we all moved into the cultural hall which was decorated like a reception. They had wedding pictures of the sisters in the ward that you could look at, see how they had changed, and guess who they were. Also wedding cake and punch for refreshments. They gave as a favor a white hanger with the following poem tied on with a white ribbon and white rose:
Temple Dress Hanger
I'm just a little hanger ---
My color pure and white.
A temple dress I'll hold for you,
A job both day and night.
I'll remind you of the covenants...
Made in the temple where you've been,
And I'll serve as a reminder
To return there again and again.
(This also makes a cute handout for the BY Lesson #41 on Temple Ordinances!)
Good luck with this.
Love, Peggy in UT
