Subj: RS: Re: Quiet books From: "Beth Gary

The quiet books that we have been doing in our area recently are done very simply and with very little talent involved!

We have purchased small photo albums, the type with page protectors in them. We have found these smaller one for around $3.50 to $4.00.

Each page in the book is a picture.  We've used old church magazines which can be obtained for free from Deseret Industries if you live nearby, or can be donated by members of the ward.

Children love to look at pictures of themselves and family members.  The pages of the quiet book are pictures from the Savior's life (largely because these books are saved and used mainly for the purpose of reverence during the sacrament).  Other pictures used are family pictures taken during the time of special ordinances such as baptisms, temple marriages, baby blessings, deacons passing the sacrament, family celebrations of priesthood advancement, young women's recognitions, etc.

One sister made created her book in a way that from start to finish was done in the natural progression of a child's life from birth to death, with pictures of the Savior in that similar phase of life mixed in.

The reverence in our ward has increased many times over since some families have begun using these books during the sacrament.
