I have been preparing the lesson on Temples and Tithing that has been issued by the First Presidency.

As I have been contemplating these subjects and reading the material, I am wondering why they are to be taught together.  Possibly, one of  the reasons might be that the one of the stumbling blocks to becoming temple worthy is the law of tithing.

So I have decided to take the approach of helping the sisters appreciate the sacredness and blessing we have to be able to make covenants with the Lord and perform ordinances to help us and our families toward eternal salvation. That is one of the few things that set us apart from other religions and if we are not a part of that great work, we are no better off than if we belonged to another religion.

There are so many wonderful experiences that have shown the divinity of the temples, a couple of which I have experienced myself. As is also the case of the Law of Tithing.

I really want this to be a motivational lesson, so the sisters will leave, making goals for themselves, as small as it might be, to start the process of becoming temple recommend holders, and attend the temple regularly as the prophet has ask.
