I have dual callings of Homemaking Counselor and Stake
Public Director. When I am looking for service projects (in either
calling) I call our local United Way. They have a program called
Lend a Hand. They have a book/file of all the organizations in town
that need things done. Usually I have several to pick from.
In June we just cleaned the Rape Response office and planted flowers at
a group home for mentally challenged men. There are always plenty
of carpentry or painting/wallpapering projects. I have found this
to be the best place to look.
You might also check the volunteer office of your local hospital, they
could probably point you in the right direction too.
