Perry Meridian High School - Class of 1986

Thanks to all who have participated in adding content and photos to this website over the past few weeks. We plan to continue updating this site, so it's not too late to send digital photos.

What a Reunion!

What a Reunion! ;) Can you say, "Twenty-year high school reunion?" Okay, can you say, "HECK YEAH!?!" ;) It was, for lack of a better word, AWESOME! I swear, I felt like I was on a permanent acid trip or something ... seeing all those faces, and just being sucked right back to 1986. It was wild!! I guess some of the infamous (but harmless) pranksters decided it would be simply hilarious to switch nametags with certain someones to see who would notice. Of course those pranksters shall remain nameless. However, when you're tipsy and bouncing from group to group to group hugging and yelling the, "OH MY GOSH, look at you's....well, it got to be pretty hysterical...I'll give them that. Kudos!!

Ahhh, high school was a very special time in our lives, wasn't it? Even if it wasn't for some, it was responsible for shaping all who were there. This note is to reflect on the event, and commemorate the occasion, and those four ever so important high school years which helped shape our lives.

Ya know, I gotta tell you that I was completely surprised by the pleasantness of the whole event. The committee that put it all together absolutely, positively worked their butts off! NICELY DONE! NICELY DONE! =)

Anyone who has been to a class reunion knows there is a certain amount of anxiety associated with attending it, right? I mean, as the event got closer and closer, my mind became flooded with thoughts. Yes, I had to come to terms with the fact that I'm not 17 anymore. Ugh. I guess the laws of gravity and time catch up with all of us eventually. However, we were all able to celebrate life's changes, relax, and just have a GRRREAT time!

During the last few months, I've been on a "quest" of sorts. I've looked through yearbooks, looked up a lot of people I lost track of, and wanted to know what they were up to. Also, I think part of my "quest" has been about getting in touch with who I was then, and come to a happy medium with the type person I was then and who I really am now. I can't exactly go back to being who I once was, because quite frankly, I don't want to be.

Gosh, all I was worried about way back then was what brand jeans I wore, what party my friends and I were headed to that weekend, how I ranked in the pecking order, and how often I let my hair dictate what kind of day I had. Yes, shallow ... I know.

Anyway, so it was an opportunity to go out and have some fun, party, dance, renew old friendships, catch up with each others lives, celebrate our youth and feel young again (if only for a little while), to reminise about the good ol' days, and share time with old friends while I am still able (haha).

It was quickly obvious that people were not there to judge, but were there for the very same reasons I was... to have a great time and touch their past. It was a wonderfully rejuvenating experience!! When it was over I could take comfort in the fact that we had all changed, we've all gone down different paths in life; but yet, we all still share a common bond and can enjoy a helluva good party! Whoohoo!

All I can say is... those who decided not to go for fear of people being the same as they were in high school REALLY missed out!! Oh what a niiiight!! ;) Hey, isn't that the name of a song? haha

Here's to all who made the evening possible, so we could take a walk down memory lane, catch up on who we are today, and look forward to the next time we can all be together again. That was a night I will remember always, and for that I thank you. :)

Cheers!

Michelle (Hansford) Hatcher
