Canoes on Pine Creek, the best way to go.
This is one of the small rapids on the creek
camping is free on the Pine but must get permit
There are some fine hiking trails in the Pinecreek area as well. This is a trip that I have made about 6 times and it is still one of my favourites.
Pine Creek PA., USA
This is the place to go for an introduction to whitewater. Class I & II rapids will be faced and they are not bad. about 35 to 45 % of the people that run this river dump. No big deal, just shake off & go on. Pack gear in dry bags & wear quick dry clothing. Both rafts (6 man) & canoes are available from Pine Creek Outfitters. They also supply waterproof maps. This trip can be anywhere from a day to 4 days. In one day you do the good rapids, in 4 days you do 50 miles of river and enjoy spectacular scenery and peaceful drifting. We recomend rafts for firstimers, though canoes are better.
