The Shadow Of His Cross
'Twas in the shadow of His Cross As he dragged it down the street A sinner such as I did live In the hour thought His defeat Little did I know that day I watched His greatest triumph. In the shadow of His Cross Two other crosses stood The shadow of His touched one The theif he knew .... Christ paid the costs "Father forgive he cried aloud" From the shadow of His Cross. People stood all round about In the shadow of His Cross And every one that did believe knew with his blood He bought From sins... and sickness... release...repreive Upon that glorious day. My savior died He paid the cost He washed my sins away Just trust believe... and you'll receive The blessings of the cross. I stood below looking up one day at Calvary's lonely brow And pondered...out loud I guess Why such a man should die and Where would He be layed? From a man that stood beside me In a still sweet voice I heard No grave could hold the son of God I died so you would live Believe... receive...eternal life In the shadow of my cross. I. A.
